Flit Plug Encapsulant

DESCRIPTION

Dow Corning@ 9161 Flit Plug Encapsulant is a white,

lovY viscosity base which cures to a silicone rubber upon
the addition of catalyst. The material has been
formulated especially for the encapsulation of Bolted
Couplers - also called Flit Plugs - used in mining
equipment. Dow Corning@ 9161 Flit Plug
Encapsulant is approved by the following Mining
Authorities: Fitting 150amp 11k V Bolted Couplerto cable.

Dow Corning::§) 9161 Flit Plug ::ncapsulant keeps
dust and dirt away from connec:ors, effectively
minimising the risk of arcing. Tr:e flexibility of the
rubber absorbs any cable movement under operating
conditions so that the integrity of the connection is
maintained.

 MIXING AND CURING

There is enough catalyst in the kit to cure all the base. When it is not
intended to use all the base at once, then 4 parts of catalyst should
be added to 100 parts of the base.
When catalysed in this way the mixture may be used for up to
15 minutes, cure being effected aher about 40 minutes.

and 25kg kits with enough
catalyst to cure all the base.
Both base and catalyst shou Id
be stored away from heat and
in tightly closed containers.
The catalyst and base may
deterioiate if exposed to
moisture, so the container
should be closed immediately
the r~quired amount has been

to liquid state warm gently
to 20cC before use. Dow

WARNING
