comed the Accreditors from Phlippine
Association of Colleges and Universities
Commission on Accreditation
(PACUCOA ) for the consultancy visit
of Criminology, Education and Busi-
ness Administration Programs last Oc-
tober 26-27, 2017 in paving the way for
a continuous quality development.
In this year, RMMC-MI will under-
go another re-accreditation visit for the
Candidate Status the same way as the
formal visit. The visit of PACUCOA in
our institution identifies the school’s
competence and performance in a
particular field to assure quality educa-
tion, as seen in such outputs as significant
improvements in the quality of facilities,
services and teachers, higher level of
competence of graduates and success in
employment. It stimulates the pursuit of
excellence, encourages compliance with
quality specifications and objective stand-
ards, and results in empowerment. There-
fore, if we have quality schools then we
will have a better society.

The RMMC-MI Graduation 2017
launches their new Academic Garb called
as “ Sinablay” a Maguindanaon term for
a shoulder sash pronounced and read as
“Sina-b’lay” (Teng Mangansa-kan).
The wearing of Sinablay is the
schools’ tradition that shows colors during
graduation rites, where the graduates can
be recognize according to the assigned
colors “Blue” for Education, “Violet” for
Criminology and “Gold” for BSBA.
The graduates’ marches and sits
beside their parent with the Sinablay drap-
ing diagonally with the loop resting on
the right leg, the silk shoulder pad with a

printed B’laan symbol rests on the shoul-
der to make sure that the RMMC coat of
arms rest on the heart of the graduates.
It entails the school logo that sym-
bolizes Alumni’s commitment and loyalty
to the institution.
The parent imposes the sinablay on
the ritual of “Sinablayan” when the Pres-
ident declares the candidates as graduates.
The perpetual use of the sinablay helps in
sustaining the needs of weaving tradition
while the sale and rental goes to the Milla-

abortion be legalized”? Although abortion is mor-
ally and ethically wrong should it be legal for
victims of rape or incest who have no other alter-
native? There is no real answer to this controver-
sy. This question is a difficult one to answer for

can't feasibly imagine killing a child who could

troversial subject that has been continually argued

bers, the answer is a big YES!

Disabled by Design
What or who determines the
value of human life? Is life only valua-
ble because a human can breathe, walk,
or make conscious choices? Is life only
valuable if an individual’s quality of
life reaches a certain predetermined
level? Take a step back for a moment
and imagine that you were born with-
out your both eyes. You have to wake
up every day and see the beauty of the
world. But, what happens if you wake -
up and see nothing?
As a person, being different
than everyone else was a terrible bur-
den. In particular, God used the story
of the blind man that shows the sanctity
of all lives, even those with disabilities;
as Jesus passed by, he saw a man, blind
from birth. And his disciples asked
him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or
his parents, that he was born blind?”
Jesus answered, “It was not that this
man sinned, or his parents, but that the
works of God might be displayed in
him.” (John 9:1–3). Jesus then heals
the blind man, who in turn goes on to
passionately proclaim the power of
Jesus. A 69 years old man, justify how
amazing God was, his name was Junior
Vasquez, he was born blind since birth.
He lives by himself and earns money
by his own.

the fact, that he earns mon-

drew Denila a 26-year-old Bachelor of Fine Arts
Jakarta, Indonesia. Wherein, the scholarship was
presented to 44 countries including our country
Philippines. Prior to this achievement, Denila
already shared his talent to his school as one of
the artists and visionaries where “Design Think-
ing” is said to be at the core of its art education.
The student’s recognition nationwide also earned
the PWC of Davao a citation for Excellence in
Curricular Program of Study in Fine Arts.
“Before I started doing my piece, I make sure
that I went through the process of feeling and
thinking,” he said. He believes that being an art-
ist doesn’t only require skill; the creative process
also involves the heart and mind. “I believe that
one of the roles of an artist is to contribute new
ideas for change, to inspire people to innovate

-deserved prizes of P60,000 in cash, a medal, and a
plaque. “I dedicate my masterpiece to the ‘Yolanda’
survivors, the three figures symbolize the three is-
lands of hope: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao,” he
said. His sculpture shows how we can help each oth-
er in times of dire need. “The drowning man repre-
sents ‘bangon na,’ while the man at the center hold-
ing the rope expresses ‘sulong na,’ conveying the
process of survival from tragedy to recovery,” he
said.
Moreover, In the year 2017 he
opens an “ART EXHIBIT” with the
local visual artists of South Cotabato
for National Arts Month held last Feb-
ruary 1-26, 2017 at KCC Mall of Mar-
bel Atrium. Which truly inspires young
artist to appreciate modern and tradi-
tional art that serves as a part of the cul-
tural heritage of South Cotabato.

DEism In a Nutshell

Deism, it is belief in a
supreme being who created
the universe, give human
the ability to reason, left and
never ever intervene to the mankind again. Deist: a
believer of deism, posits God’s existence as a source
of all things but rejects divine revelation, interven-
tion of God and miracles. It also rejects religious
teachings, dogmas and demagogy as it highly contra-
dicts the religion’s assertion that reason and observa-
tion of the world is enough to determine that there is
a God, it does not need revelation as what many reli-
gious texts asserts.
Deism can be classified into two forms,
namely: classical and modern. Classical deism views
God as non-moving, non-intervener, and non-reactor
deity. Modern deism views are more open to the ex-
istence of God; they see that God sometimes is in-
volved in many things especially in the natural
world.
“God gave us reason, not religion,” the
summation of deists’ belief. The phrase describes the
“critical” and “constructional” element of the theo-
logical belief. Critical elements of deist thought in-
clude rejection of religious groups and organization,
as they argued, that religion itself is created for per-
sonal gain of someone/s.

the notion of deity, while deism is the acceptance of
the belief that there’s a supreme being who created
everything but rejects religion and the revelation.
In the Philippines, the most famous deist is
the Commander in Chief of the nation, President
Rodrigo Duterte. In his numerous interviews, he al-
ways assert that he believe that there is a God, but
not in the way which many religious texts and
groups describe and believe. Even the national hero,
Dr. Jose Rizal, was believed by many to be a deist.
Book Review
The novel contains heavy themes
which are not often addressed in literature
which many will find uncomfortable to read
but it provides insight which will make you
endure the painful and long journey upon
reading the novel. The novel was excellently
written, every page has been given thought.
The story revolves around the day of
Leonard Peacock, it was his 18th birthday,
the day he also decided to kill his ex-
bestfriend, Asher Beal, and then himself but
before he do that, he must spend time saying
his own way of farewell to four people who
matters to him. All throughout the novel, you
will encounter different sides of Leonard
whenever he is around with someone, there
are times in which you will see his damaged
sides, his loving sides, his goofy and funny
sides, and human in him that is not wishing
for anything but saving. The novel will make
you stop for a long period and time and will
make you contemplate your life. Are you hap-
py? Are you really living? Or are you just as
damaged as Leonard is?
Leonard isn’t your normal character
either. He isn’t the common protagonist that
will sweep you off your feet. He is the type of
character that one minute will make you pity
him and the next minute will make you hate
and disgust him. He is unpredictable just like
his thoughts all throughout the novel but be-
hind the messy thread of all the happenings in
the novel lies a great and insightful lesson that
not all broken needs fixing, sometimes all
they need is someone who will save them.
Final verdict to the book is 5/5. Good
novel that is well written, the characters are
believable and anchored in truth, the scenes,
though unbearable at sometimes are still an
eye-opener. The heavy and sensitive topics
being discussed such as male rape, suicide,
teenage killing and many more are handle
with care and sensitivity.

El Secreto de Marrowbone, The
Secret of Marrowbone or just simply the
Marrowbone is a 2017 English-language
film created by Spanish writer and direc-
tor Sergio G. Sanchez. Marrowbone is a
drama horror-thriller film which stars
young and upcoming promising actors
such as George MacKay, Anya Taylor-
Joy, Charlie Heaton, Mia Goth, Matthew
Stagg, Kyle Soller, Nichola Soller and
Tom Fisher. The film focuses on the
story of one family moving to America
from England to run away from their
horrible history, to start a new life and
forget all the horrors from their past.
Their new beginning at the
Marrowbone House started well, they
have lived a peaceful and happy life, and
made a new friend named Allie. But
good things started to end when their
mother dies, leaving Jack, the oldest
brother, Jane, Billy, and Sam alone on
their own. But the past they buried started
to haunt them again, with Jack having
problem with the deed of house whichhe
can’t own until he turn 21, and his rela-
tionship with Allie started to also cause
him troubles. The siblings need to stick
with each other to survive.
The film received below to
average review scores from critics criti-
cizing the movie’s similarity and famili-
arity to AJ Bayona’s The Orphanage
which is one of the producers, many
critics also noticed the overlapping or-
chestral score of the film, some screen-
writing clichés, and the considered cheap
and shallow plot twist which was re-
vealed at the latter part of the film.
On a more positive note, the
promising cast and their great acting per-
formance and portrayal of their role

The film does not stay true to its nature, it
lacks jump and scares to be called a hor-
ror film, the characters are thinly con-
ceived, the main source creepiness was-
n’t well addressed and the plot twist is
one of the cheapest being applied to a
film. But the film does provide a good
family drama scenes, the acting and the
cast are superb, cinematography is great,
and it does touch heart and makes eyes
swell up a little drop of tears.

present genuine martial arts spirit and highlights
