Technology Integration Lesson

2/8/18

I. Introduction/ Purpose Statement – Students will be using Phones to record practice session and

uploading it to YouTube as unlisted viewing for teacher to assess. Students will be assessed in objectives

including tone, tempo, rhythm. The Technology will be appropriate to form better practice habits after

being assessed and guided toward better learning strategies. This will be a form of one on one time with

students and giving an ability to further students learning while at home.

II. Product/process sample – The students will be utilizing YouTube for assessment purposes, using a

phone or school laptop to record. The students will follow the following rubric for at home practicing

This will be done via Unlisted YouTube video, A link to the YouTube video must be submitted to

me the day before rehearsal. Only I will be viewing these videos!

 5-10 minutes of warm up, Focus on Scales that are done in class (Bb, Eb, etc)

 10-15 minutes of current song we are working on in class

 5-10 minutes of any piece or skill you want to improve on! (This can be anything)

 2-3 minutes any questions you may have (this can be anything)

III. Assessment – The student will be assessed by completion of the assignment, following instructions

(time limits and specific instruction). The video will be submitted the day before rehearsal I will use the

warm up portion of the video to modify the warm up to challenge students. I will see where the

students are at with the current song recording portion and adjust my lesson plan accordingly. I will use

the skills you want to improve on section to see what students are wanting to improve on and try and
create and activity or address common desires for students, along with replying to all student’s

questions students have one on one via in class or online teaching if student is away or sick!

IV. This unit is amazing to me due to it being a way to address questions students have and have student

practice in an efficient way at home, growing up I was never taught how to practice accordingly. I was

given a practice sheet to put down minutes I practiced in which anyone could just put a fake number

down or just not practice things correctly. With using YouTube as a technology unit the students can be

assessed individually and learn efficient strategies early on to improve there musicality in the future!
