The Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science degree program focuses on kinesiology concepts in
human movement, exercise and management. Its curriculum prepares students for positions
in coaching, fitness and wellness centers, health and wellness education, personal training and
rehabilitation sciences.

The degree also prepares students for postbaccalaureate study in areas such as aging, athletic
training, biomechanics, chiropractics, exercise physiology, human growth, sports management,
sport psychology and more.

The RN to BSN program at Concordia is designed for registered nurses who are interested in
furthering their knowledge of the nursing profession and advancing their career. Baccalaureate-
prepared nurses are being called upon to fill expanding roles that support changing
demographics, and an evolving and complex health care context. BSN-qualified nurses can
use their valuable knowledge and skills to meet the daily challenges they encounter as nursing
professionals. Our online courses provide you with a learning environment that allows for
collaboration with both peers and experienced instructors. You’ll be prepared to pursue nursing
careers in such areas as leadership, management, care coordination/case management and public
health.

This program will:


• Prepare students for baccalaureate generalist practice where they will advocate

Concordia offers the Master of Science in Exercise Science program fully online. The program is
designed to help students achieve their academic and career goals on their schedule. Online
courses mimic the on-campus atmosphere by providing students with a learning environment in
which they can collaborate and interact with the professor and their peers.

The Master of Science in Exercise Science is designed to advance the skills and knowledge
of current and future exercise science professionals. By utilizing a combination of theoretical
inquiry and practical application, students will gain greater insight regarding exercise testing and
prescription as they relate to working with diverse populations. Major topics discussed include
exercise physiology, exercise testing, applied exercise prescription, biomechanics, nutrition and
metabolism as well as psychology of sports and exercise. This program prepares students to
become leaders within the exercise science industry.

Concordia’s online MSN program is designed to prepare nursing professionals* for direct and
indirect leadership roles in a variety of health care settings. It builds on previous experience to
give students the skills to lead individuals and teams in the complex health care environment.
The evidence-based curriculum emphasizes practical application, preparing graduates to improve
health care outcomes for patients, teams and organizations. Students complete hands-on practice
(practicums) in simulations, their workplace and their local community as they learn from expert
faculty in a flexible learning environment.

In this program, students will:


• Gain skills as nursing leaders to influence the outcomes of diverse populations in a variety of
settings and roles.
• Critically analyze the health care context when creatively designing, implementing and evaluating
quality improvement methods that promote safety and cost-effective patient care.

Students must submit the following items to apply for admission:
• Online application
• Official transcript(s), showing degree conferral when appropriate, from all colleges attended.
• Personal statement is required for Master’s programs
• Resume is required for Master’s programs
Concordia University, St. Paul may give temporary admission status to applicants who desire to
take a limited number of courses but are not seeking a degree. If students wish to transition from
nondegree to degree status, they must complete the full admissions process.

Students must submit the following items to apply for admission:

• Hold a current Minnesota nursing license
• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher in previous nursing coursework
• Final and official transcripts from all previous institutions attended – If you ve attended a
MNSCU college or university we also ask that you provide an official accompanying DARS
or MnTC goal area worksheet. Concordia accepts completed goal areas. All candidates must
hold an Associate’s degree with a major in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Personal Statement
• Submit verification of current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse. Applicant
should not be on probation and must report any past or current disciplinary action taken
by a State Board.*
If nursing license is from a state outside of MN, contact your enrollment counselor for additional
information.

Students must have a BSN or BAN from an accredited program for acceptance into Concordia’s MSN.

Students must submit the following items to apply for admission:


• Online application
• Official transcript(s) from all previously attended, regionally accredited institutions stating
the conferral of a bachelor’s degree in nursing with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Hold an unencumbered active registered nursing license.
• Complete a personal statement in a minimum of 300 words.

Concordia University, St. Paul understands that many students complete their degree by attending
multiple institutions of higher learning. We strive to honor your previously earned credits and
transfer in as many as possible. We accept a maximum of 6 transfer credits for graduate programs.

While our credit acceptance policy is generous, final determinations about credit awards are subject
to the approval of our registrar’s office.

1. How do I prepare for online courses?


Each new student is required to participate in an online student orientation prior to the
start of classes. Your enrollment counselor will provide you with more information.

2. How will I access my online course?


Enrolled students will receive a login ID and password. Upon entering the ID and
password in the login window, students can access their online class, view course
information or retrieve their academic records.

3. Will I have face-to-face meetings with my professor?


Online courses are delivered entirely through the Internet. However, students can make
an appointment to meet with professors during office hours if they desire.

4. Will I have access to library resources?


Library resources and services are available 24/7 to all students.

5. How do I get help if I cannot access my online course?


All students will be granted access to Concordia’s Help Desk upon enrollment.

6. How do I request my transcripts?
