INTRODUCTION
Transfer pump design from SP Randegan to SPU A
DESIGN METHOD
Pump design is based on conventional equation for pump as per follows:
1 Suction Pressure = Tank Source Pressure + Inlet Static - Pressure loss (line loss , strainer , fittings, e
2 Net Pressure calculation (psia) = Suction Pressure - Vapor pressure
3 NPSH available (ft) = Net pressure / Density
4 Discharge pressure = Maximum Destination Pressure + Pressure loss (fittings, line loss, etc) + Elevat
5 Differential Pressure = Discharge Pressure - Suction Pressure
6 Safety factor = Differential Pressure x 10%
7 Required Differential Pressure = Differential Pressure + Safety Factor
8 Required Differential Head = Required Differential Pressure/ Density
9 Hydraulic Power = Required Differential Pressure x Rated Flow
10 Brake Power = Hydraulic Power / efficiency
2 Suction conditions :
- Source (tank) pressure 0 psig (Product oil tank operating pressure)
- Static head 19.65 ft
- Pump centerline 1.64 ft (from grade)
- Assumed suction Length 492.13 ft
Discharge conditions:
- Destination pressure 450 psig
- Static height 10 ft (loading arm static height)
- Assumed pressure drop
Fittings 10 psi
