Strengths of the lesson:

1. To prepare the pupils, the teacher played a video song with which the pupils sang.
2. The presentation phase of the lesson consisted of sentence construction using the
simple present tense through pictures shown to them. This was a very engaging
activity. It was also a good practice that the pupils were asked to say the sentences
altogether.
3. The practice phase of the lesson involved listening, speaking, and writing where each
group was given 3 pictures and words to arrange in complete sentences. After which,
the pupils in each group read altogether their sentences. Again, this is a strength
worthy of commending since the pupils ought to say/use the language. Then, pupils
were also invited to write their sentences on the board.
4. Dictation was used by the teacher in order for the pupils to write a sentence on their
whiteboard. Again, the teacher asked the pupils to repeat after her reading. However,
this activity should have come before the evaluation phase of the lesson.
5. The last activity was so pragmatic in a way that the pupils used the language to state a
sentence reflecting what they do at school.

Areas for development:

1. It would have been better if the teacher did an activity or presented a video that is
much closer to the topic of the lesson so that the pupils could see/feel later on the
relationship between the preparation/motivation activity and the presentation of topic.
A = Exceptional, B = Very Good, C = Satisfactory, D = Marginal and F = Unsatisfactory
