    Biology is the study of life and

life processes, including
interactions between organisms.
Biology is used in all capacities of
life, making it a very versatile and
well-rounded major to consider. 
    In an ever-changing field, there
will always be plenty of use for
biologists and researchers in the
search to understand the sciences
behind life itself.

INFORMATION
The only math requirement
for the college core to take
at least one year (2
semesters) of college-level
calculus.
Obviously science classes
are quite prominent in this
major, and while the
majority of science courses
are biology-based, it is
required to take some
chemistry, physics, and
statistics courses. Most of
the science courses taken
for this major are
laboratory sciences.
The College of Science
does require a 9-credit core
requirement of a foreign
language or culture class. A

the Purdue Course Catalog.

Healthcare
Science and Research
POST GRADUATE
While it is not uncommon to continue
onto grad school to pursue something
further (be that in healthcare or just a
higher degree, many are able to find
jobs after undergrad doing research or
working with a company/lab.
CODO REQUIREMENTS
In addition to meeting
Purdue's transfer
requirements, students
CODOing into Biology must
have a minimum GPA of 2.5
and have received a C or
higher in at least one semester
of college-level calculus (i.e.
MA 16010).
WHO MIGHT LIKE
THIS MAJOR?
Students with Myers-Briggs scores of
INTJ would fit well into the Biology
program because of the complex thinking
ability needed to work through research
and life processes. Good organizational
skills and the ability to think in terms of
the bigger picture are also beneficial.
This major could also correlate to a
Holland code like IRC; using investigative
techniques, working with your hands and
conventional thinking and organization
are big points in working in biology.
