Inspired on a text by Saint-John perse. Amers refers to markers, like light

houses on the
coast for ships. Perse indeed wrote extensively about the sea, and l{atjaSaariaho
imagmned
for this composition the cello solo as a ship navigating rn a sea of sound by the orchestra.
The orchestra does not include any stnng Lrt o-.nts but includes electronics.
