Occasionally we get an error message 'work centre rates are not set
up' when we are doing a Superbackflush-Visual work order
completion in Shop floor control in One World.

This document describes the reason and the solution for the error.

Reason

At first sight, the reason is that in the Work Order Master Tag File (F4801T),
the field WALEDG (Ledger Type) in combination with the work centre of the
work order routing, is used as a key to retrieve the work centre rate in the
Work Centre Rates File (F30008). In our case the ledger type was 01 and
we do not have rates with that ledger type.

The real reason however is the following :

We define our costs on Item / Branch Plant level.


In the Item Cost File (F4105), we have to indicate per item which cost
method we use for Sales/Inventory. Within Bosal we decided to use cost
method 07 (Standard Cost).
This cost method is copied in the Work Order Master Tag file at the moment
a work order is created.
In the cases where we got and error message, it was proven that, at the
moment the work orders were created, the Sales/Inventory cost method
was not 07 but 01 !

Solution

The Sales/Inventory cost method of all items must be 07. If this is not the
case, it can immediately be changed (use Item Branch Plant program and
take row exit Cost Revision).

If it should still occur that the Ledger Type in F4801T equals 01 in stead of
07, only a DFU can be used by a programmer to change it in that file, and
from that moment on the work order can be completed without the error
message appearing again.
