Essential Question: How are the developments of autism affecting these people differently?
Working Thesis: I believe that these developments of autism affect their social capabilities and

In Ballaro, Beverly, and Ann Griswold’s article they speak some of the topic of the
symptoms and developments of autism. They talk of how autism impairs there communication
and social interactions as well as talked of several specific symptoms of autism some including
cases of repetitive personalities and hand behaviors like hand slapping and swinging of the head,
they also get heightened sensitivity to there five senses. As well as people with autism have
troubles with expressing and articulating their emotions as well as reading others emotions
,social cues, and gestures, they also can have trouble with eye contact. I feel

In Guttmacher article talks of the symptoms to autism as he goes around the facts of what
causes it and the progress researchers are making. He talks that some symptoms of autism such
as a major one being language development the reason this is major because since most children
with autism have a harder time learning a child with autism at the age of 18 can have ability of a
14 year old. Showing that it hinders the child's mind greatly communication wise as well as
limits the child's social communication skills usually to those who are close to the individual. I
feel Guttmacher and his article helps my research because he goes in depth into one major

In Willingham’s article she continues the ideas of the definite symptoms of autism such
as a difference in communication ability, learning capability and social interactions. She talks
how the diagnostic of autism has changed and that the symptoms of autism are much more exact
and in depth then it was, such as how autism has to have certain aspects such as impaired
learning as we know autism can affect the learning of that child versus a average child. As well
talks of how the hindrance of social interaction is very noticeable in those with autism this is due
to they go by schedules in their mind. I think Willinghams article is valuable to my research due
