Mountain Provonce
● Located in Corldillera Central Mountain
● Known for hanging coffins and mummified bodies
● “kadangyan” burial cloth for rich people (only grandmother are allowed to weave the cloth)
● Tattoo art signifies a rite of passage from youth to adult life or heroeism and bravery
● People from Bontoc, Mountain Province are great weavers
● Cloth fabrics are called “siniwsiwan” ; used for blankets and clothing (men’s g-string)
● Women used the fabrics as wrap around or called “get up or lufid”

● Use natural dye for fabric cloth
● they are still practicing loom weaving
● Embellish the woven fabric cloth

DAY 7

Pangasinan
● Known as the salt capital of the region especially during the pre-hespanic time
● Famous for the smoothy waved bolinao mats made from ​buri ​or ​raffa leaves ​and bamboo crafts of
San Carlos.
Cordillera Autonomous Region

● The home of cordillerion (igorots)
● Igorots are ​hill side dwellers
​ ALINGA

● Are also great weavers
● Cloth weaving and Basketry are first among the region

Dance - is a rhythmic and expressive movement of the body in successive movement usually
accompanied with music.

Functions of Dance
● It has been used in worship
● Plays a role in courtship
● Servers as a form of acquaintance for man and woman.
● It is an expression of the joy one feels
● Brings victory or somehow restores health to life
● Breaks the monotony of the daily activities
● Serves to entertain others
● Gives beauty and inspiration to others
● Provides effectiveness to personal communication

Features of Dance
● Music - closely related to dance foe it plays a significant role in it.
● Movement - refers to action of dances with tge use of their bodies to create organized patterns
● Theme - pertains to the content or main ingredient of dance
● Techniques - skill in executing movement
● Design - arrangement of movement
● Properties and Costume - contribute to the visual effect of dance

Forms Dance
● Ethnic dance - is indigenous to a certain culture or country
● Social dance - type of dancing in pleasure as generally performed by pairs or group.
Ballroom dance - originated as square dance
Folk Dance - derived from ethnic dances
● Spectacular Dance - dances which are intended for viewing audience
● Ballet - ultimate expression of art.
● Modern Dance - characterized by something natural and free.

● Prose - consist of those written within the common flow of conversation.
● Poetry - refers to those expressions in verse with measure and rhyme, line and stanza.
