ELT2010: ELECTRO-ASSEMBLY 2

Prerequisite: ELT1010

Students will use computer software to design circuits and develop circuit board positives for circuit
projects. Students will work on designing and fabricating control circuits for their robotics system or a
circuit of their choosing.

ELT2140: ROBOTICS 2

Prerequisite: ELT1130 or ELT1140

Students demonstrate the fundamental concepts of sensor devices and control systems by building an
electronic circuit to control robot operation. The robotic system will be microprocessor based and
controlled with various sensors.

ELT2160: ROBOTICS SENSOR 1

Prerequisite: ELT1140

Students demonstrate how basic sensors are used in a robotic system. A range of sensors will be
examined and interfaced with the microcontroller system. This will include programming as well as
hardware interfacing strategies.

ELT2170: ROBOTICS SENSOR 2

Prerequisite: ELT2160

Students demonstrate how specialized sensors are used in a robotic system. A range of specialized
sensors will be examined and incorporated in a programmable control system using a microcontroller.
The evaluation of sensors will include selection for inclusion in the robot system project.

ELT2910: ELT Project B

Prerequisite: A combination of ELT1010, ELT1130, ELT1140, ELT2010, ELT2140, ELT2160, ELT2170

Students develop project design and management skills to extend/enhance competencies developed in
other CTS courses. Students will tie this module in with other Robotics modules to complete a major
project. A robotic system based on a programmable microcontroller will include at least one active and
one passive sensor.
ELT2920: ELT Project C

Prerequisite: A combination of ELT1010, ELT1130, ELT1140, ELT2010, ELT2140, ELT2160, ELT2170

Students develop project design and management skills to extend/enhance competencies developed in
other CTS courses. Students will tie this module in with other Robotics modules to complete a major
project. This could include design and fabrication of a robotic system required for a competition that is
not based on a kit system.
