Reflection 4

This is my third observation in week 4. I thought students the first lesson from unit 3 which was
about fun and games. This lesson includes the vocabulary of the actions such as (hit-kick-throw -
bounce-catch and roll). Students already took this vocabulary in physical activity lessons. I did this
lesson outside the classroom in the schoolyard to be safe for the students through acting the actions
of the verb by using a ball. So, I begin my lesson by reminding the students about the classroom
rules, singing a song that related to the lesson.

The students were engaged through the whole lesson because this lesson was learning by doing. So,
I said the vocabulary and they did the action by using the ball. Moreover, through completing the
activities they collaborated with each other to complete activities. I applied formative assessment
with the students by observing them through doing the activities, I used a checklist to evaluate
them and ask them oral questions to check their understanding.

Students responded to me through the lesson because it is the first times were they took lesson
outside the class and play through learning. On the other hand, through the transition, some
students did not to the last activity because they ignore my instruction

Teacher feedback was positive she told me that you manage students’ behavior very well and you
used various hands-on activities that let students engaged in the lesson.

For this lesson, I focused on managing students’ behavior and I praise them and I did TPR strategies
and it affected successfully with the students. I also, apply the transition between the activities and
it works successfully with me except the transition for the last activity. For the next lesson, I
decided to write the vocabulary words in the big font to let students read it easily.
