Develop, maintain, or implement business continuity strategies, including risk


assessments, business impact analyses,
and documentation of business continuity procedures. Plan, conduct, and debrief
regular mock-BCP exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and strategies.
Act as a coordinator for continuity efforts after a disruption event.

Job Description:
1- Business Impact Analysis, Risk Assessment, business continuity planning and
testing.
2- Evaluate effectiveness of documented strategies against documented RTO’s and
RPO’s and other key measures.
3- Lead regular BCP & DR testing including proper documentation and reporting.
4- Implementing and updating of BCM report which provides updates on company’s
business continuity initiative.
5- Identify and categorize business processes and executes annual updates to
business impact analysis and business continuity plan.

We Require
– At least Bachelors in business or Technology
– 2-3 years of experience in Business continuity and Disaster Recovery.
-Thorough understanding of BCMS practices in line with ISO standard

• Coordinate with different groups/units for a corporate wide business
continuity program that addresses disaster recovery, business recovery and
emergency response management.
• Liaise with Business Continuity Coordinators to get the tasks completed as
per Road Map for BCM & HSE.
• Create consistent understanding of BCP across the bank through different
channels.
• As per the risk assessments provided by the concerned departments, coordinate
with functional groups to identify points of vulnerability, single points of
failure and identify risk avoidance and mitigation strategies.
• Assist crisis management team in an event of business interruption.
• Keep track of all issues identified during the BC/DRP tests & ensure these
are addressed well in time.
• Manage Health Safety & Environment related tasks.
• Annually review and report any changes regarding regulatory requirements &
industry guidance on BCP & HSE policies.
• Main Reviewer for Static Data-System Parameterization. Backup for Statement
Rendition process & also play a key role in the rendition process.

Unit Head - Business Continuity Management


• Develop Resilience strategy and Business Continuity framework.
• Ensure all Critical processes and systems are having well developed Business
Continuity Plans.
• Ensure all units, departments; groups have updated business continuity plans.
• Coordinate between business and ITG for well-defined system disaster plans
for all critical applications.
• Ensure that the human aspects, key processes, critical systems and facilities
management are also covered while preparing BCP.
• Ensure all significant facilities/offices/branches are having their Crisis
Response Plans.
• Liaison with Security Group for managing fool proof security at branches &
offices.
• Provide training to different segments of the organization upon Business
Continuity aspects.
• Ensure BCM policy & framework documents along with SOPs are well updated with
periodic review approval from the senior management and the Board.
• Disseminate precautionary and reinforcement messages upon different aspects
of BCM & HSE.
• Provide support during crisis and disaster situations.
• Deliver sessions, walk-through and arrange workshops for creating awareness
and sharing learning’s upon BCM & HSE.
• Continuously provide guidance to units, depts., or groups to improve their
response and recovery solutions through periodic testing of alternate sites,
critical applications and other associated resources.
• Other scope of work; Regulatory Compliance, Operational Risk Management,
Capacity Management, Health, Safety & Environment Management.

BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLANNING & DISASTER RECOVERY


Volunteered for reviving BCM of the bank; established the bank's entire BC
structure , including conducting Risk Assessment, BIAs,
formulation and approval of BCP documents and updating IT-DR Plan, conducting first
ever full scoped BCP & DR Drills bank wide
and closure of 20+ internal and external BCP related Audit observations.
In recognition of the same, was re-designated as Manager BPR & BCP.
Responsibilities include:
- Risk Assessment and Business Impact Analysis of KMBL’s offices and branches.
- Prepare and develop BCP/DR plan for offices and branches in line with KMBL’s
BCP/DR policy and international best practices.
- Ensure BCP/DR plan remains current with all system, structural, product,
procedural etc. changes.
- Translate BCP & DR plan into training modules for the user trainings and expert
delivery of those trainings.
- Ensure proper BCP/DR drills are conducted on periodical intervals.
- Be the focal contact point in case of any actual BCP scenario.

- Based on Risk Assessment and BIA, Devising containment strategies and


implementation of the same across ABL network in alignment with Disaster Recovery
and Emergency Response Plans.
- Establishing proper team of Business Continuity for formalizing and implementing
BCP Practices in the bank.
- Resources allocation and operationalization of ABL’s Alternate Sites of different
departments.
- Training and awareness of various BCP specific functional and cross-functional
teams at ABL.

- Assist the Development of BCP collectively for the bank and individually for each
unit or branch in the form of RSD. This practice is carried out for all offices and
branches of Pakistan & International Ops.
- Develop all the document and components of BCP and activities. update these
documents for time to time based on length or concurrence trigger.
- Assist offices in conducting BCP Drill (including Evacuation Drill ) in the
presence of independent observer. Participate with ITD Team in the performance of
DR Drill of various System.
- Assist the effected unit in case of a disruption effecting continuity of
operations. Coordinate the effort of the all units involved including the occupancy
of APS required support from ITD , CA and other relevant units. Follow up with the
effected units in the resumption of business and return to primary site.

• Assisting Businesses/ Support Units in preparation of BIA/ BRP


• Liaise with Business units / support Functions , IT and Audit for determining
their business continuity requirements.
• Ensuring Business/ Support Unit to be perform their BCP simulation exercices
as per their schedule.
• Ensuring BIA/ BRP for all Business/ Support Unit to be updated annually and
vetted by compliance
• Regular Visits of dedicated BC facility
• Contributing in development and maintenance of BC policies and benchmark
• Assisting Critical staff process owner in accomplishing overall objective
• Analysis of data with view of identifying significant risk and assisting in
designing strategies to mitigate them
• Strengthening relationship with IT peers and business in developing Cross
functional teams to achieve BCP deliverables
• Participate in execution of BC testing program and simulation exercise for
groups/business to test plan and provide feedback with the coordination of
Business, IT and Audit
• Assist in Channeling on going trainings and awareness session for all UBL
Branches/ Head office / Regional Office and business Partner associate Country wide
• Assisting is conducting surveys, & meetings throughout the organization, to
create awareness among businesses for effective BCP.
• Reviewing UBL International BCP.
