Overview of the lesson:
Planning was organised resulting in the class being given a clear explanation of
tasks.
Re-explained task and linked to the inquiry question
Clear use of differentiation in both main and extension task
Children were frequently asked to give reasoning and ask questions to further
understanding- great use of talk partners and in groups.
All pupils were reviewed and give additional support with the drama activity
Great allocation of TA’s time and support to all ability children- particularly
when explaining the effects of a tornado
Children were provided with support diagrams to help with the process of
acting and reasoning. HA extended further and challenged through using
enhanced scientific vocabulary
Good use of behavior strategies- 321 stop, hands free, clapping a rhythm.
Well done for sharing children’s drama work, promoting high standards of
learning within the classroom.
Good use of peer assessment- 2 stars and wish
Excellent preparation of resources to visualize learning
Children wrote a written reflection of their learning- relating to the learner
profile (knowledgeable/caring/inquirer/balanced)?
Self-assessment was used with thumbs up/middle/down to reflect on the
learning

Areas for development:

• Continue to focus on challenge through questioning. Questioning needs


to be targeted to the needs of each learner.
• Be confident to direct support staff to help specific children based on
assessment within the lesson.
