Jim Absolon
Equipment Maintenance Supervisor
Fellowes Brands
1789 Norwood Ave Itasca IL, 60133

Dear Jim Absolon:

I am applying for the Equipment Maintenance I position available. I heard there was an opening through
Pedro Ramirez, one of your maintenance technicians currently working on first shift. I have 7 years of
experience operating Ward Die Cut printing presses and 3 years of experience operating the Pearson and
Douglas case packers. I am currently the third shift Flexo Folder Gluer operator and have been a backup
for several years before that. As you can see, I am a versatile employee who can easily adapt and perform
a number of roles within the company. I currently attend College of Dupage to receive an Associates in
Manufacturing Technology which will help me acquire the skills needed for this position.

As a machine operator I have developed various skills suchs as attention to detail, proficiency under
pressure, and problem solving skills with minimal supervision. I am able to locate a machine malfunction
and quickly replace the issue without affecting production. While operating there may be issues such as a
pressure drop. This causes a problem because the machine requires a certain psi rating to be able to run
optimally. I was able to trace the issue and quickly replace the broken valve returning the machine to
normal operations. As you can see, my years of experience, skills and discipline have helped me
troubleshoot errors when complicated machinery like this is involved.

I see this as another opportunity for me to grow within the company and achieve my goal of becoming an
Equipment Maintenance Technician. I would love the opportunity to interview with you to express my
interest in this position. I am available Monday through Friday 9 am – 5 pm. I look forward to hearing
from you soon.

Sincerely,

Silvestre Quintanilla
