INTRODUCTION
Market breadth is a commonly referred to method of analyzing and describing financial markets. Breadth
measures the underlying strength and direction of markets by aggregating characteristics for index
members, such as cumulative advance-decline lines or the percentage of stocks trading above the
200-day moving average. WEIB <GO> aggregates market breadth data to analyze breadth statistics
across 70+ major equity indices with an extensive variety of measures.
This document is an instructional guide that describes a variety of analytics available on the Bloomberg
Professional® service to analyze the breadth of financial markets. It begins by looking at markets from a
macro perspective and evolves into analytics that facilitate a shorter term view.

WEIB is organized into five tabs that allow you to analyze different aspects of market breadth. The Overview tab provides a
sampling of key statistics from the Movers, New Highs & Lows, Above MAs, and Technical Breadth tabs, each of which allows
you to access more in-depth data. The four other tabs provide more breadth data as it relates to that measure.
