Diajukan untuk memenuhi perbaikan ujian tengah semester Mata Kuliah Teknik Bendungan
yang diampu oleh Drs. H. Rakhmat Yusuf, M.T.

1. Jenis-jenis survey investigasi yang diperlukan untuk perencanaan sebuah bendungan,
diantaranya :
Time and Money for Investigation
Desk Study
Preliminary Investigation
Geophysical Investigation
Exploratory Investigation Methods
Evaluation of Selected Site
Detailed Investigation
Monitoring
3. Multipurpose Reservoir :
Water supply, contohnya seperti PLTA (untuk muka air yang tinggi)
Irrigation
Silt retention
Transportation
Eletricity Generation
Recreation and beautification (untuk muka air yang konstan)
Flood mitigation (untuk muka air yang rendah)
4. Perencanaan Dimensi Diversion Tunnel
Q2 = 950,87 m3/det
Q5 = 1250,43 m3/det
Elevasi Hulu = 63
Elevasi Hilir = 60
Panjang (L) = 636 ft = 193,853 m
n = 0,013
Δ𝐻 63−60
S = = 193,853 = 0,01548
𝐿
Dalam rencana dimensi hidrolis diversion, untuk mendapatkan dimensi yang mampu
melewatkan Q2 dan Q5 direncanakan dimensi B tetap sehingga yang berubah adalah nilai
H nya.

c. Menurut Materialnya :
Bendungan Beton (Concrete Dams)
Beberapa tipe bendungan beton diantaranya adalah :
Bendungan tipe Gravity (Gravity Dams)
Bendungan tipe lengkung (Curved Gravity Dams)
Bendungan tipe busur (Arch Dams)
Bendungan dengan penyangga (Buttress Dams)
Bendungan Timbunan (Embankment Dams)
7. Gallery dibuat di tubuh bendungan digunakan sebagai alat pembangkit listrik pada
bendungan
8. Forces on Gravity Dam :
a) Gravity (weight of dam)
W = Vxγ = (volume) x (specific weight of material)
(lb) = (ft3)(lb/ft3)
(ton) = (m3)(ton/m3)
b) Hydrostatic Pressure
Hh = γ h2 / 2 (horizontal component)
(lb/ft) = (lb/ft3) (ft)2 /2 where, h = depth of water at that section
γ = specific weight of water
Hv =γV / h (vertical component)
(lb/ft) = (lb/ft3) (ft3) / ft where, V = volume of the dam at that point
c) Uplift
The water under pressure that comes b/t dam and foundation and results in upward
(uplift) forces against the dam.
h1 = depth of water @ upstream face, aka “heel” (higher)
h2 = depth of water@ downstream face, aka “toe” (lower)
γ = specific weight of water
t = base thickness of dam.
d) Ice Pressure
Pressure created by thermal expansion exerts thrust against upstream face of the
dam.
e) Earthquake Forces
Results in inertial forces that include vertical motion, oscillatory increase, or
decrease in hydrostatic pressure (all put force against dam).
