Students will learn how to properly swing a bat to successfully hit an incoming softball, as well as learn how to run bases.

Diverse Needs

Intro-Activity: Students will partner up, each partner 5 Min Foam balls
having a ball. One student will roll the ball to the
opposite partner and the other will kick the ball back in
return; partners will alternate back and forth between
rolling and kicking.
Warm-up: Upon completion of the intro-activity, 5 Min
students will begin one lap around the bases and then
will participate in a dynamic warmup.

Rules: The class will all take turns batting a ball off of 10 Min Tee, bats, softballs
a tee, learning proper batting form including foot
placement in a stance, as well as where to grip the bat.

Activity: The class will partner up once again with the 20-25 Bats, softballs, foam
same partners they had at the beginning of class. Both Min balls, pits
sets of partners will be two separate teams who will
take turns batting/kicking, and will be given two outs.
Participants will be given the option of hitting a
softball with a bat (infield for 2 points) or kicking a
foam ball (infield for 1 point). Anything into the
outfield will be 3 points. In order to be eligible to
hit/kick and score a point, the player up to bat must
answer a question correctly; every wrong answer will
result in a strike. Each player will be allotted 3 strikes.

Ending Activity/Cool-down: After completing the 5 Min


competition, the class will gather around in a circle and
participate in a static stretching cool down.
Closure: After completing the lesson, the class will be 5 Min
open for any remaining questions and comments.
