Outokumpu Plates Service Centre Group offers a wide range of products for
load-bearing structures made of stainless steel. Production of Bent profiles,
welded I-and H-beam and Hollow section tubes is performed at the Plate
Service Centre Nordic in Sweden. These products are available in both the
standard austenitic steels and as the more high-alloyed specialgrades for
usage in environments where corrosion is an even bigger challenge. Similarly,
in the various high-strength duplex steels and heat resistant steel.

are manufactured in a efficient and competitive way. Our products are
manufactured according to order and a large stock of raw material, backed by
fast material flow, allow for short delivery times. Production lengths of up to
13 m (without length splicing).

that stands up year after year. A bridge, for example, as a rule, has an expectation to last for more than 100 years.
With an incorrect choice of materials, cost of maintenance over time can become gigantic. Stainless is often the
best economic choice of materials when reviewing the lifecycle cost of the design. When the construction no longer
performs its function and needs to be replaced stainless steel material is 100% recyclable.

Hollow section
tubes

Our product range is now extended with stainless steel welded square
and rectangular tubes. Bent U-profiles are welded together to form the
rectangular tubing through mechanized Plasma Arc Welding (PAW) and
Submerged Arch Welding (SAW).
These two methods provide high flexibility and we are able to produce
Hollow section tubes in wide thickness and dimension ranges. Special
dimensions can be manufactured as well as standard dimensions.
Stainless steel welded Hollow section tubes are manufactured in
thicknesses from 5 mm up to 30 mm.
Maximum thickness depend on the steel grade, dimension and length
of the finished tube. In our range we offer both rectangular and square
rectangular tubing.
Maximum length of Hollow section tubes is 13 000 mm (without length
splicing).

After welding the welded the pipes are cut, giving the opportunity
to cut up to specified lengths or in an angle according to customer
requirements. Hollow section tubes are manufactured to the required
tolerances and surface post-processed by blasting or pickling.

Our production method requires no long runs and no limits on quantity.

Stainless steel girder
Outokumpu Plate Service Centre group offers a wide range of welded beams in both austenitic and high-strength
duplex stainless steel grades. The welding method for this product is mechanized Submerged Arch Welding (SAW).
This method provides high flexibility and we are able to manufacture many different types of beams such as IPE,
HEA, HEB and the HEM of various sizes and material thicknesses.

Max length in our mechanized production line is
13,000 mm, we manufacture standard beams in
dimensions corresponding to up to HEM 1000.
Other dimensions are manufactured to quote

After welding the welded beams are cut so that the start
and the end of the weld are discarded, we will then have
the opportunity to cut up to required shorter lengths or
angles.
The beams are manufactured to the specified tolerances
and surface post-processed by blasting or pickling.
Bent profiles
Outokumpu Plate Service Centre Group has a large capacity for the manufacturing of cold formed shaped profiles in
stainless steel. The profiles are available in both austenitic and high-strength duplex stainless steels. We have a long
experience of manufacturing bent profiles and a wide range of tools for complex shapes.

steels and high-alloy special grades. In addition to these stocks we have access to the stock of our other service
centers and at our mills within Outokumpu. We also have reservations for short lead time supplies from new

As part of Outokumpu Stainless, we have
access to technical knowledge and development
in order to satisfy even the most demanding
customers. Our stock material is already ordered
and approved according to the most common
requirements of the market for each steel grade.
For specific requests, we have proximity to the
technical departments for additional testing, third
party verification, etc.
PSC Nordic, where these products are
manufactured, is certified according to EN-ISO
9001, 14001, 3834-2, 1090-1.
Beams, Hollow section tubes and Bent profiles
are delivered with CE marking, if required.
When no specific requirements are set by
the customer, welded products are produced
according to the following standards:
EN ISO 5817: 2007 Class C and EN-ISO 3834-4
Other requirements and tolerances are quoted on
a case by case basis.
Standard dimensions or special
Outokumpu now offer a complete range of girder, hollow section tubes and bent
profiles for bearing structures.
All the different common standard dimensions in our product range are
manufactured to order in an efficient production process.

We manufacture standard as well as special

dimensions, completely according to the
customer’s wishes. For us, the “special is
standard”, by having semi-finished materials in
stock not at finished dimensions we save on
capital costs and become more efficient. Beams,
hollow sections and profiles can be provided with
holes and cut-outs or in special dimensions.

All weldable grades are available to get as bent profiles, welded

beams and hollow sections.
Order Size
We have the capacity to handle both the small,
quick service order with short delivery time to
the large project with many partial deliveries. Our
minimum order size is always 1 piece provided that
the stock material is available.
Outokumpu ensures we give major projects a high
priority. We have a high level of capacity in both
production and administration to handle large
orders.

duplex steel, weight savings can be made in
structures, which in turn leads to different types of
cost savings. The high Chromium content provides
high corrosion resistance and this, together with
the low nickel content, makes duplex a very cost
effective solution. Outokumpu will help you choose
the right steel grade for your application, ensuring
a lower total life cycle cost, because stainless
steel is corrosion resistant and maintenance can
be minimized.
