Graywater has been used to help and
decrease the water shortages in
drought-stricken areas. Graywater has
been able to help decrease the overall
water use in communities in facilities
that often have water crisis.

Graywater has been used to irrigate
areas in California. There are still many
restrictions on it’s use in the areas that
have allowed it’s implementation. Wash
water from kitchen sinks and
dishwashers is prohibited to use.
WHAT IS GRAYWATER?
Graywater is the water that is
generated through everyday
activities such as washing dishes,
washing clothes, showering,
brushing your teeth, and activities
from commercial, domestic, and
non-industrial processes.
USES OF GRAYWATER
Graywater is most commonly used in
ways that do not include consumption
or contact in anyway. These
applications include, but are not
limited to, domestic toilet flushing and
on-site irrigation.
