Janet Schoeberlein, wife
of the late Dave Schoeber-
lein, addressed the crowd in
attendance at the Friday, De-
cember 7 dedication ceremo-
ny of the newly-named Dave
Schoeberlein Gymnasium at
Waukon High School. In ad-
dition to the comments she
shared during the event, she
and her family also shared
the following sentiments after

As part of the Friday, December 7 ceremony dedicating the Dave Schoeberlein Gym-
nasium in honor of the long-time teacher and Waukon girls basketball coach, those in
attendance were given the opportunity to further commemorate and carry on the influence
Mr./Coach Schoeberlein has had in their lives. The basketball on the left was available for
those in attendance to sign as a keepsake for the Schoeberlein family, while the golf balls
on the right are part of the “Deeds for Dave” movement through which others can become
a part of Mr./Coach Schoeberlein’s “ripple effect” of positively impacting the lives of others.
