Goal #2:
Receive training in behavior
intervention systems, such as PBIS,
and use this to create 4 behavior
support plans.
I would like to gain formal training
in at least one behavior intervention
system, which can be implemented
not only class wide, but
school/district wide. We are a
school with many students who
have behavior needs and I want to
establish consistent behavior
expectations and responses, for the
SPED students on my case load, to
support behavior needs and reduce
volatility. The goal is to see a
reduction in referrals and an
increase in student engagement and
work completion.
Goal #3:
Lead a series of professional
development plans on how to
effectively use behavior support
plans, to meet student needs.
This year I am seeing several new
teachers not understand how to
implement behavior support plans
and not responding, in the most
effective manner, to negative
student behaviors. The end result
is that staff members are escalating
challenging students, rather than
contributing to their success. After
training, teachers will better be able
to implement behavior support
plans and follow a consistent
pattern of responses, which will
support students and result in fewer
behavior escalations and behavior
referral.
