1. You can find the degree of a function by looking at the greatest exponent. For example,
if the greatest exponent is 5 then the degree will be 5.
2. You made the domain by looking at the inputs shown on the x-axis. You can find the
range by looking at the inputs shown on the y-axis.
3. You can find the end behavior of a function by splitting the graph in half. Then you look
at the left half and say As x—> -infinity,f(x)—>___. Same with the right half(As x—>
+infinity,f(x)—>___) and fill in the blank depending on the function.
4. You know it’s decreasing when the x values increase and the y values decrease. You
must find domain values where all critical values occur.
5. We used synthetic division and P/Q.
6. To find the y-int of a function you need to let x=0. You need to substitute 0 into the
equation.
