THE IMPORTANCE OF FACILITIES MANAGEMENT IN THE PRACTICE OF DESIGN AND

ARCHITECTURE

The role of facilities management in design and architecture is to understand the

importance of building maintenance in its function. Building maintenance aim to ensure the

building life cycle to maintain the purpose of a building.

Facility management should not only manage in everyday building operation but it should

also include a long term planning and focus on its users. Facility management is play a significant

role in maintaining the building to be functional, to give life, and to increase the value of the

building.
