Nifios desde 5 a 15 afios de edad reciben en- tensivo, incluyendo idio- mas e instrumentos que enriquecen su vasto repertorio musical, que va desde obras del periodo medieval al contemporaneo, asi tam- bién como obras del folklore latino- america- no. El coro ha viajado por todo el mundo, can- tado con grandes orquestas y en festivales mu- sicales en teatros de prestigio. El recital de 1996 en Carnegie Hall fue recibido en forma extraordinaria por el pablico y los criticos de New York. Evy Lucio is a native of Puerto Rico. Maestro Pablo Casals once said, “Mrs. Lucio possesses a natural talent for teaching and inspiring children to sing on a high level of musicianship.” Her musical studies have been at Longy School of Music in Boston and Pius X School of Liturgical Music in New York. In 1984 she was granted an honorary Doctor of Music degree from Saint John’s University (New York). In 1966 Evy Lucio founded the San Juan Children’s Choir (Coro de Ninos de San Juan), which she still directs. Children ranging from 5 to 15 years of age receive intensive music training including languages and instruments that enhance their vast repertoire of works ranging from the medieval to contemporary periods as well as folklore from Latin America. Extensive world travelers, they have sung with major orchestras and music festivals in renowned theaters.
