Students will be able to identify and classify between producers, consumers,
decomposers, herbivore, carnivore and omnivore.
Select (S): The lesson was about producers, consumers, decomposers, herbivore, carnivore and omnivore.
Identify the difference between these definitions’ producers, consumers,
decomposers, herbivore, carnivore and omnivore. Describe (D): The lesson was for grade 6, we discussed these vocabularies producers, consumers, decomposers, herbivore, carnivore, and omnivore. Students during the lesson were able to classify these words and compare between them. Since I was preparing the lesson plan I tried to achieve the learning objectives and deliver the information in a clear and easy way. In the beginning, I used the PowerPoint to show students the definition and it was a class discussion so, students were taking and sharing information with the teacher about producers, consumers, decomposers, herbivore, carnivore, and omnivore. After this part I started the classification activity using the presentation so, students should classify between producers, consumers, decomposers. However, after this activity I started the second activity that contains three plates in each groups plate with lettuce and meat, only lettuce and only meat, Students were able to classify the animals and put in the correct plate at this activity. During this lesson, the students were well organized and engaged. Analyze (A): I think that students responded because the lesson was organized and creative I also, focused on using a hand on the material to catch their attitude during the lesson. The engagement party was well prepared, so it affected positively to students understanding at the end of the lesson. However, I was trying to connect the lesson to student’s prior knowledge so, I asked them about the human that have sharp and flat teeth, so we are omnivorous, houses have a flat tooth so they are herbivores and lions have sharp teeth so they are carnivores. Appraise (A): I think that I achieved the goals by guiding students during each activity and gave clear instructions before each part in the lesson, give students the ability to share, talk and discuss during the lesson to improve speaking skills. Transform (T): I think that students could make a poster about producers, consumers, decomposers, herbivore, carnivore, and omnivore by using colorful materials such as glitter, crayons, and clay because this will improve their imagination and creativity.
