CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction
To make low cost and easy to use wood cutter machine people take long time to cut
the wood by the axe so our purpose is to short the time of cutting wood and the effort
-2-
CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW AND
THEORITICAL BACKGROUND
the developer aim to find the proper way to do the process faster , quicker and with low Operation cost
.
Also industries in rest a huge amount of money on new technology to do the operations ( fast, quick,
and low Operations cost )
We have Enhanced conceptual model of Machine which could be able to perform different operation
with more economical efficiency , also this machine can be used in place where the electricity is limited
. And it is easy to hand and move from place to other place and it doesn't require any fuel . It can do
cut wood
-3-
2.4 Theoretical background
2.4.1 wood
Indirect method
The wood is cutting in simple way to which is putting the wood pice between the
jacks and the electric motor. The jake drives will going to push the wood to the
electric motor, which is connected to the Piece sharp and It will cuts the wood into
two halves where it is easy for the user to turn it into coal.
-4-
2.4.3 Advantages Wood cutting machine
Low operating time
Power consumption is less
Maintenance cost is less
Maintenance cost is less
Cut a large amount of wood in a short time
Finish your work Earle
It is more sifting .
Types of wood

MAPLE: There are 115 species of maple. Only 5
commercially important species grow in the U.S. Two of
the five are hard rock maple and sugar maple.
SOFTWOODS
PINE: Pine is a softwood which grows in most areas of the Northern
Hemisphere. There are more than 100 species worldwide.
Properties: Pine is a soft, white or pale yellow wood which is light weight,
straight grained and lacks figure. It resists shrinking and swelling. Knotty pine is
often used for decorative effect.
Uses: Pine is often used for country or provincial furniture. Pickled, whitened,
painted and oil finishes are often used on this wood.

Figure 1.2.1 : PINE
ASH: There are 16 species of ash which grow in the eastern United States. Of
these, the white ash is the largest and most commercially important.
Properties: Ash is a hard, heavy, ring porous hardwood. It has a prominent grain
that resembles oak, and a white to light brown color. Ash can be differentiated
from hickory (pecan) which it also resembles, by white dots in the darker
summerwood which can be seen with the naked eye. Ash burls have a twisted,
interwoven figure.
Uses: Ash is widely used for structural frames and steam bent furniture pieces.
It is often less expensive than comparable hardwoods.
Use of wood
Wood is a renewable and climate friendly raw material that is increasingly in
Wood is a material with a long history and a wide range of applications, e.g.
construction - from bridges and high-rise buildings to interiors and furniture. Credit:

Whether massive laminated timber rafters in the "Viking Ship" Hall in Hamar, or the
world's tallest wooden building in Bergen - Norway is at the forefront internationally
when it comes to innovative use of wood in construction.

Saw
Saw is a sharp instrument made of blade or wire stiff march. It is one of the oldest
known cutting tools. The manufacture of saw over time from many of the materials
at the beginning was of stones and then became the intervention of some materials
with stone. Then it became copper and then iron. Many developments have passed
through the ages in the industry referred to and were initially composed of 10 teeth
but with the evolution there was a hundred percent of the teeth that made the work
more efficient. It has many uses in industry for example uses wood cutting and also
some non-hard metals. As for the method of use is placed on the edge of the gear
on the material and move it strongly forward continuously and strongly. It can be
used by hand or by large energy such as electricity or other power source.
-8-
Axe
Axe is a sharp tool made of iron or a hard material used to cut. Made from ancient
times, it is considered one of the first tools used by teeth in facilitating life. Contains
many shapes and specialized uses, but often consists of head and handle. The head
industry was subjected to many industrial materials including copper, bronze, iron
and steel. Used in many things including cutting wood and cutting hard materials

Mechanical chainsaw
The clue is in the name! A chainsaw has two main parts: a saw blade built into a
chain, wrapped around a long metal guide bar, and a small, one-cylinder gasoline
(petrol) engine (sometimes an electric motor powered by a cord or battery pack). The
chain is a bit like a bicycle chain, running around sprockets (gear wheels designed to
turn a chain) only with about 30 or so sharp teeth (made from a hardened steel alloy)
mounted around it at intervals. Inside the engine, as the piston moves in and out of
the cylinder, it pushes a connecting rod that turns a crankshaft. The crankshaft turns
gears that are connected (through a centrifugal clutch, explained below) to one of the
sprockets on which the chain is mounted—and the chain spins around.

3.1.2 Operation of the project
We operate the device by plugging the plug into the Power switch, the electric motor
rotates then oil descends on the cut edge stabilized in the electric motor. Next, we put
wood between jack and the electric motor .in the end Push the wood by the jack
towards the cutting tool .
3.2 Preliminary work and design
A proposed design of the wood cutting machine was designed in both AutoCAD
software and manual drawing procedure. The measurement was taken and placed for
selection suitable material for this project

3.3 Project development
3.3.1 Table
We take the mild steel and we cat the steel by hacksaw machine
We cut two different size of steel 6 mm and 3 mm
We used the grinding machine to grind the steel to make it smooth
We use to type of steel shape are angle and rectangular bars
Length : 900 mm
Width : 460 mm
High : 900 mm

CHAPTER 4: RESULTS ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSIONS
ON FINDINGS
4.1 Developed model
1change motor capacity .
2 add different tool to the motor .
3 make spring for the jack to come bake otmaticly .
4 make the project with more space to different tap of materiel .
5add one fan to clean the shape .
6 add weal to make it easy to move .

CHAPTER 5: CONCLUSIONS AND FUTURE SCOPE
5.1 Conclusion
Thus stages to complete wood cutter which can be operated by
human ether manually or by using electrical power. The wood
cutter is designed to reduce human effort .

5.2 Future scope of the project
After the project being developed, will be tried to cut wood
miscellaneous trees .as the initial step it can be tried for the
production of more amount of charcoal .Based on the
