OBLIGATIONS THEREOF
1.1 During the period of industrial attachment students are under the authority and
discipline of the host company and should, therefore take instructions from company
management.
1.2 The host company is expected to help students to meet costs incidental to their Company

5. TRAINING PROGRAMME
5.1 It is not the wish of the department to impose any programme on the company.
However the company must design a structured programme that should cover among
other things the following.

full-time employee and permit him/her to actively participate in all aspects of the

1. FEES POLICY
From the Dean’s Office Students on Industrial Attachment, like any other full time students pay full tuition fees to

Students are expected to register as required by completing all the necessary forms during
the registration dates stipulated in the University Diary. Students should take note of the

5. ACTUAL ATTACHMENT OF STUDENTS


Though we can not guarantee that you will obtain a placement, the ILO and Departmental
Coordinator will make every effort to help you get attached. Students are reminded that as
in the real world of employment, getting attached depend o factors like how well prepared
you are compared to other candidates/current needs of organizations and the employment
market in general. However the onus is on the student to be proactive in looking for their
preferred placement. All students should immediately bring 5 copies of their CVs to the
ILO. The ILO will distribute these to various companies who will invite students for
interviews.
As soon as one has been successfully attached, they should immediately inform the ILO’s
office either through calling, faxing, posting or bringing a properly filled Confirmation of
Attachment Form. This is very crucial and should be done not more than four weeks after
getting attachment.

6. JOB INTERVIEWS
Most companies take students through proper job interviews where students will be
competing with their peers from this University and from other Universities. Students are
expected to come up with well written and professionally done CVs. Job hunting and
interview skills as well as proper grooming and etiquette will assist you in getting the job
that you want. As they say “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” and to getting you employed.
The office will hold some seminars to help students in these aspects.

7. FOLLOW UPS & EVALUATION


The Faculty will conduct visits to each student to assess and evaluate their performance. A
lecturer and the ILO will visit each student twice during the duration of attachment.

visits are crucial as they form the basis for your continuous assessment for your attachment.

14. ACCOMMODATION
Students who intend to live on campus should follow the normal channels through Student
Affairs. Unfortunately the Faculty is not in a position to assist students with accommodation.
