Tasma Bioenergy (“Tasma”) is a Singaporean company that provides sustainable biomass energy to its clients and assists them in
reaching the clients’ greenhouse gas emissions reduction and renewable energy commitments.
We are now seeking an O&M manager for our Indonesian subsidiary, PT Tasma Bioenergy Indonesia. . Tasma is currently operating
one biomass steam plant in East Java and will be constructing multiple other plants. The position is based in Surabaya and will
report to the COO. O&M services of the plants are outsourced to a 3rd party.
This technically competent and hands-on individual, will exhibit strong skills in scheduling/planning (daily and monthly),
administration, delegating, supervising, reporting, managing budgets, understanding legal contracts.
You will find yourself needing to continuously and effectively communicate with all related stakeholders such as O&M teams,
project management, engineering, site staff, the clients etc.
The perfect candidate is able to work within a team as well as to a large part independently, due to the amount of responsibility
they will carry. Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be a proactive and mature problem solver who can prioritise and
action tasks accordingly.
Responsibilities
• Overseeing multiple outsourced plant operations to insure maximum efficiencies by establishing an equipment
performance program and providing adequate engineering and support to perform the program. Keeping operating
errors to a minimum by way of established strong procedures, investigation, communication and correction programs
• Directly, and through delegation, coordinating activities required to assure safety and environmental compliance
• Developing, updating and supervising Standard Operating Procedures
• Supervising O&M contracts and assisting in negotiating new contracts
• Implementing PPM schedules and organizing reactive maintenance and CAPEX projects when required. Managing
Tasma’s CMMS system accordingly
• Reporting
o KPI reporting, benchmark and follow-up
o Producing periodic reports on plant progress and technical reviews
• Liaising operative issues directly with the client – acting as a key account manager in operative issues
o Assist in sales & operations planning process in order to match resources (e.g. fuel supply) with the client
needs
• Project management
o With your significant experience with the engineering/construction sector, you will also provide technical
input to project execution based on O&M related issues and results – this could include design reviews, bid
submission and plant commissioning support as well as general machinery regulatory compliance.
• Assists with responsibility for ensuring compliance with government, regional and local governing body and regulatory
agency rules and regulations as they pertain to steam plant operation
• Leading plant commissioning efforts in the field
Tasma is a lean organization. Consequently, the entire staff will occasionally be involved in various duties outside of their usual
scope of work, such as project and development work and admin tasks.
Qualifications
Experience:
• Minimum 8 years of industrial O&M experience, preferably in energy production, utility or power industry
o A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
o Electrical engineering background is an advantage
• Has gained demonstrated understanding of plant O&M, plant engineering, contracts, plant performance and plant
business functions. Steam boiler knowledge and experience is a plus

• Working knowledge of environmental permits, current H&S issues and safe working systems
• Ability to analyze and interpret data to make sound, cost-effective judgments
• Ability to negotiate contracts for sale or purchase of goods and services

• Clearly outlines risks and rewards relating to financial impacts of operational decisions
• Some understanding of accounting, contract administration, procurement and other plant administration function

• Strong organization, planning and time management skills
