Thesis: The events of the election of 1828 was remarkable due to the effects of Andrew Jackson
winning the political race. Through Andrew Jackson’s presidency he managed to create idea of
the common man which led led to the effects of him moving Native Americans and the removal
of the National Bank.

Contextualisation: In the years prior to 1828, Andrew Jackson had previously ran for president in
1824, but lost to John Quincy Adams due to the fact the Henry Clay had an influence in the
House of Representatives giving John Quincy Adams the presidential advantage. Andrew
Jackson declared that it was due to the corrupt bargain because of Henry clay. Jackson swore to
run for president until he was elected into office, which was in the year of 1828

Main Idea #1: To start off, Andrew Jackson had the idea of the “common man,” allowed more
citizens to vote and gave him the political advantage in his presidency.

Main Idea #2: For effects, Andrew Jackson wanted to get wanted to preserve the native culture,
making him to do everything in power to make sure they are removed from their lands.

Main Idea #3: Lastly, Andrew Jackson enforced the removal of the National Bank because it was
sought as a threat to his traditional values.

Conclusion: In conclusion, the presidential election of 1828 had significantly caused through the
idea of the common man, the removal of Native Americans from their territory, as well as the
elimination of the National Bank
