Dear President Obama,
Thank you for your leadership in these hard times. There are a greaat many of us, obviously
the poll takers can't find us, who respect and value your wise directing of our country. It took
Bush 8 years to drag us into the mess we are in. You deserve some time to extricate us.
Very truly,
Esther L. Moss
Dear President OBAMA,

Thanks for your work on behalf of middle class working stiffs and trying to make a
difference for those without a voice or real representation in
Congress, because of the corruption in both houses of Congress! Your positions on
trying to correct and rectify eight long years of the jingoistic rhetoric from men who
never served in the military, and bamboozled Americans, and still are hoodwinking
Americans, based on fear and prejudice! Please believe that you are appreciated and
valued as a President despite the caccophony of ignorant and blind people whose ability
to think is hampered by a lack of foresight and intelligence.
Sincerely,
Donald L. Mercer

Thank you Mr. President for your hard work and for showing that you really care about all the
citizens of America.
Mr. President,

Thank you for keeping the "main thing, the main thing"...health care, jobs and education!

President Obama,

Thank you so much for everything you are doing for our country. Keep fighting for those of us
who don’t feel like we have a voice in Washington any longer. The lobbyists seem to be running
the government instead of those who we sent there. You are definitely a breath of fresh air. The
healthcare reform bill was extremely satisfying. I know we have more work to do, but at least you
got the ball rolling.

Thanks again for all you do.

Tonia Stump, Dublin, OH 43017

Sir,

Give 'em hell! I'm a retired public employee, Viet Nam Vet, OSU Grad. I'm happy to welcome
you & Michelle to our campus! I'd like to be on hand but as a caregiver to an MS victim, it's
difficult to be there.

Keep up the good work that you are doing, especially on behalf of those in need and our
veterans. Don't let them get you down!

Cordially,

Joe Hammond

Dear President Obama:

Know that some of us who worked for your election are not disappointed in your
first two years in the White House. Your accomplishmeents have been many, but
what has changed the most for me since your inauguration is the serious tone of
your administration. I like the reports of what a good listener you are. I
like your zen quality. I like the fact that you got very important legislation
past while we had a healthy majority. All in all this eighty year old woman is
proud to have supported your presidency and wish you all good fortune in the
future.

Laura Tobias Adams, Ph.D.

When friends on the “other side of the aisle” say to me what they believe are jabs, like “hey, is this the change you voted for?” I simply say, “Why yes, yes it is.”

Thank you for trying to do something about the state of our health care in this country. Thank you for trying to reform Wall Street. Thank you for passing a stimulus
so that my husband, who was laid off and was the one with the health care coverage, can continue our health care plan while he looks for work. Thank you for
putting Ohio workers back to work and fixing the road right in my own neighborhood as a part of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.

I STILL believe my vote for you was the best vote I’ve cast my entire life. God bless you and thank you for all you’ve done. And don’t listen to the right when they
paint you as governing from a far left-wing agenda. The ones stirring the pot are getting paid to rile the masses up and they are not speaking the truth.

Thanks!

Melissa Rapp
Mr. President,

Thank you for all that you are doing for the American people. I appreciate you candor
and your willingness to confront difficult issues head on without trying to sugar-coat or
pander to people’s fears. I am very proud you are our president and wish you well.

Eileen Mehl, M.A.

I thank you, Michelle, because as a single parent who graduated from OSU in SP06
majoring in Textile and Clothing, I am thrilled to have a fashion icon grace the campus.
Sorry, Mr. President, she’s in my area of business! It gives me goose bumps to just
imagine Mrs. Obama being on the same campus that I spent so many hours and days, day
and night trying to fulfill a dream! I beat the odds and so did you! Wish you could visit
the Dauterman CAD Lab – it’s awesome and I’m sure some designs based on your
aesthetic will grace many drawing boards! Although, I only dream of being close enough
to shake their hands, the thought of being a part of history is another event to share in my
journey.

I thank you, Mr. President, because as a proud parent of a son who also had the
opportunity to earn his degree at OSU, play basketball ball for OSU and was instrumental
in bringing home two Big 10 Titles(Ron Lewis #12). Now has a President who
understands the game of sports and the opportunities that it can bring for your family.
Every time I pass by the Buckeye Nation street sign on High Street and Lane Avenue, I
smile, because his team left their mark on OSU and in the hearts of the many fans.

I thank you, Mr. President, as a proud parent of my eldest son who sacrificed his goals to
fulfill the dreams of his younger brother and many others. I thank you because he now
can add to his role models a President who can relate to achieving against all odds.

I thank you President and First Lady Obama for giving African American families
another view to see of our families, an opportunity to rebuild two parent households, to
embrace the support system of grandparents, to encourage unity and good working
relationships with people who work for you, to strive to be good parents and involved in
your children’s activities and interest especially in single parent homes. Our families are
at risk and seeing your family helps keep hope alive for our young women and young
men to strive to have a better family structure!

I thank you just for being a part of history!

Thank You Mr. President for all of your hard work on behalf of all Americans!
Please stay on track, You ARE fighting the GOOD fight! Bless You!

Dear President Obama

Welcome to Columbus. We hope you visit will be warm and fruitful. We are very sorry that we
will be totally busy on Sunday and will not be able to attend your 5:00 event at OSU.

Thank you for your initiatives leading to health care reform and many other important actions of
your administration. We hope that you will be able to keep Democratic control of both the House
and Senate so that we can implement health care, protect the environment, and most
importantly pass climate change legislation.

President Obama,

Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication to health care reform. I can
begin to envision a country where we finally value humanity and the well-being of our
own more than the almighty dollar. As my parents age, I will feel so much better
knowing the situation has improved, and that they won't be the subject of a news story
about a tragic death for lack of money.

From the very bottom of my heart, thank you.

Sincerely,
Melinda Stephan
Thank you, President Obama, for your work on health care, financial reform, fighting for
tax cuts for the middle class but I know you want to allow the cuts up to $250,000 expire
to help our budget needs and even the playing field. I know you are working all of the
time in things too numerous to mention. Please be proud of what you have accomplished.
I believe you deserve the Nobel Peace Prize, because you have helped America appear a
nation that wants Peace.

Thank you,

Dear President Obama,

Thank you for your work on health care and social security. Stand strong! We are headed in the
right direction.
President Obama,

You have made me proud to be a Democrat. Your work on Health Care, Social Security and
Financial Reform has been fought at every step by the far right and Blue Dog democrats.
It was like fighting with one hand tied behind your back. I am sure that you were more
frustrated that most of your true supporters. But keep up the fight until we prevail. I have
faith in you.

I'm convinced you always do what you think is right for the American people, and I thank
you for that. You and Michelle demonstrate intelligence in all you do. A rare quality
these days.

Marcia Preston
Thank you for sticking to it and getting it done. I know it's not perfect, but it's a start. If
only the insurance companies and big business would get on board with the spirit, we'd
be better off. It took political courage and your indomitable spirit to keep going through
the long fight. Thank you!!

This long journey has started with a single step. I would have much much preferred

I appreciate you for resisting those who would privatize Social Security!

Dear Mr. President,

I am honored to have supported you in the 2008 election and still am. You have pointed
this nation in the right direction, despite what corporate sponsored candidates say. They
are ONLY working for big business. You are looking out for all of us! Keep up the great
work. Let's hope to get out the vote this November too.

I was out of work for two years and did not have the health insurance.
Luckily, I was covered by my husband insurance.
But, if he looses his job, I do not know what to do.

Mr. President,
Thank you and your administration for your tireless work to provide health care for our

Obama is doing the right thing with health care!

I just want you to know that I've been behind you all the way. However, it wasn't until I
read "How the Stimulus Is Changing America" in the Nation section of Time magazine/
September 6th issue that I truly began to understand how all of it fits together to try to
turn around this country around and going in the right direction. Again, thank you!

Dear ProgressOhio,

You can add this to your message of thanks:

Dear Mr. President,

You've done so much to help so many people, but I want to thank you for a couple of
things that have affected me directly.

Thank you for health care reform which allows my 20-year old daughter to stay on my
health insurance while she's in college. And thank you for credit card reform which
makes managing my finances much easier.

Your administration has helped working people in so many ways already. My family
and I appreciate your hard work on our behalf!

Dear Preident Obama,

Please understand that despite all the obstacles that are being put in your way, there are millions and millions of us who continue to count on
you to speak with the voice of reason with regards to foreign policy, education, energy, the environment, health care, CAMPAIGN FINANCE
REFORM, immigration, the economy, and all of the other issues that you were handed when you walked into this mess. We continue to have
the utmost faith in your ability to stand by y(our) vision and that we are here, AND VOTING with compassion, energy and intelligence. Thank
you, sir, for taking all of this on. You have our gratitude, our respect, and know that we have your back.

Thank you Mr. President. I don’t know how you keep from getting discouraged by all
the criticism you endure, but please try to remember that others are grateful for what you
are doing.

Thank you President Obama for bringing this country back from the brink of disaster.

I was told in history class that no county has dominated the world for more than 200
years before it fell.

I hope this is the start of another 200 years of American domination, not militarily, but in
education, creativity, caring for the less fortunate, environmental leadership, and in a
stable standard of living for our citizens.

I am definitely fired up and ready to go.

Debbie Near
Dear Mr. President,

Thanks you for all that you have done and are doing for our country. We voted for you
for change and you have brought some change even thought you have been thwarted by
many people who would rather see you fail than see progress for our country.

Please keep up the good work!!

Thank you for taking the first important steps in health care, Social Security and financial
reform. I will continue to fight for a single payer system as long as I am here.

Thank you president obama for addressing health care.

I wanted a public option, but at least it was addressed by you.

Don't believe all the polls regarding this issue.

Sherri Smith
Thank you for your efforts so far for the nation. I suggest you become our benevolent strong
man, going over the heads of Congress to explain directly to America what you want to do, and
why. Enlist our support.

Congress will then be inundated with calls and letters supporting your correct view.

You are right about so many issues. Lay them out to us, and ask us to back you up. I miss the
clear thinking and inspiration in your addresses to the people.

I'm with you all the way Mr. President. Doing volunteer work for Gov. Strickland and
making contributions to dems in Ohio.

Dear President Obama,

My husband and I really appreciate the job you have done since being elected President of the
United States. We are middle class, working professionals that have been hit hard by rising costs.

We know that the trickle down theory put in place 30 years ago created this mess and not you.

Please continue to fight the “pretender lenders” who are trying to steal our homes with so many
fraudulent foreclosures! Thank you for vetoing the Notary Bill that would have allowed more fraud
in the foreclosure mess we face in this country.

We are in the fight of our lives to save our home from foreclosure. We won the first foreclosure
case against the bank! We are fighting again, as they refilled. They presented a photo shopped
copy of our note that was robo signed by a computer. Our signatures were fraudulently signed by
a computer and we proved it.

So thank you very much for all your hard work. I will be voting in the mid-term elections and
voting again for you in two years!

I hope to meet you someday in an effort to bring light to the fraud in the mortgage foreclosure
crisis.

Dear President Obama,

Thank you for accomplishing all that you have in the short time you've been in Office. I
am glad that a Health Care Reform bill has finally made it into our system. The work
that you've done to keep us financially sound after the great recession created prior to
your term in office is very important. Without it, I believe our country would be much
worse off. As a senior, I especially appreciate your efforts to protect us and Medicare. I
am proud to have you as my President. I look forward to your continued leadership.

Sincerely,

Dear President Obama,

Thank you for your diligence, efforts, and insights into solutions for the problems that
beset the USA’s general population.

I am amazed on a daily basis at the lack of understanding of the limitations of poverty by

people who are not directly affected by it. Or living it. People work hard to provide for
themselves and their families, working with what is available to them. Sometimes their
resource is money, family support (availability for child care, transportation and
housing), personal educational support or expectation, or guidance. Some folks are lucky
enough to have all of these resources available to them to enable them to distance
themselves from the consequences of poverty: poor housing, medical care, lack of
educational opportunities or expectation, high crime, living to survive, unhealthy
environmental exposure due to housing availability...

I heard that Ohio has 34% of its residents living in poverty?

People who do not live in poverty, and are comfortable, are so because they have moved
into communities that are physically separate from the neighborhoods that put their
children at risk.

This separation, while a survivalist and healthy choice, does make citizens less aware of
the conditions of their unsuccessful or downtrodden fellow man. It is not necessarily a
closing of the eyes, or looking the other way, but a complete unawareness. Donating to
Goodwill or Purple Heart is good and helpful, but it is also , to coin a phrase, “surgical.”
It satisfies the need to help, but it does not let the real conditions be addressed.

THANK YOU FOR NOT TURNING A BLIND EYE, and for fighting to make the
American People aware of what goes on in their neighborhoods, or their neighbors’
neighbors’ neighborhood! Thank you for standing up to do the right thing for ALL
AMERICANS, not just those who can afford it.

I wonder who would fight the wars to protect the rights of each of us if we did away with
the poor? If they were shipped out of the country to an island to start their own country,
what would separate the rest of the people remaining? New lines would be drawn and
someone would win and someone would lose.

We are responsible for our own and you are doing it!

Thank you.

Mary Perin, School Nurse

Despite the barrage of Republican TV lie-filled ads I believe that most of us still think
you have done an incredible job when compared to the mess that Bush II left you. Keep
your spirits up and delight in that great family of yours. jks

Thank you, Mr. President!

I could not be more proud of the advances in health care reform and disability rights under your
administration. I know you are strong and won’t let the Tea Party get you down. Your vision of
America is the one I want to see happen. And thanks for not ignoring those of us who are
secular. It really meant a lot to me that you mentioned us in your inaugural address. Keep up
the good work!

Kathleen Lyons

Cincinnati, OH
I am so thankful, appreciative that you pushed so hard for the things you did and did
get most passed thru, no thanks to the Republican Party of No and even some of our
scumbag Democrats.

Keep up the good work and push further for the things our country needs after the eight
years of disaster.

Now, the corporations are trying to take over the country with Karl Rove "heading the
posse".

I really fear for our country is the ideas of the Republicans come into change of law. We
are no longer a country of ideals, but of greed of the elite and the corporations. May this
not come to pass but I really worry!!

Cecelia Vidmar
Mr. President,

Thanks for all of your valiant efforts to run this country to the best of your ability.

It is very much appreciated.

Dear President Obama,

Despite all the negativity I get down here in Cincinnati I want to applaud you for your courage to
do the right things for people these past two years. When there was so much mis-information and
half-truths being spouted forth by normally well meaning people you spoke courageously about
Health Care, Social Security and Financial Reform. You also saw to it that something
was done in the Congress about all three despite working with hostile members that
seemed to want you to fail.

Wanting you to fail is actually wanting most Americans to fail since I believe you
wanted nothing but the best for the common good for the American people. I am
very angry about that terrible attitude and will support you whenever I can in groups
that I attend.

As a member of a social justice group working with a Catholic parish in Cincinnati I

see mostly good things coming from your administration since they deal with people
most vulnerable to poverty and to loss of jobs due to the poor economy. The empty
talk I hear from Republicans about your failures and ways to make it better makes
me sick. I used to be a staunch Republican and may be again if they decide to
include fiscal responsibility AND social responsibility in a real way in their actions.
But that is long way off I fear with the crowd that is in there now.

I do have an issue with you about your stand on promoting abortion and mis use of
fertilized embryos....but that is another issue. I hope you can continue your efforts
to see to it that no tax money is used to fund abortion and to actually help reduce
abortion through health care centers that provide pregnant women the support they
need to have a healthy baby. My SALT group is working toward that end.

Any way thanks for being my president. You make me proud to be an American.

Mr. Dear President Obama:

It's been a crazy two years, but you're still a beacon of hope to so many people the world
over.

Thank you so much for your efforts in reforming health care and the financial industry,
and for protecting Social Security.

Keep up the great work, and don't let the bastards wear you down!

My wife and I will be on the O.S.U. Oval on Sunday to show our support for you and the
First Lady.

Best wishes always,

Thank you President Obama for all of your efforts on my behalf since you took office.

I think you have done a great job!

I only have health care because I spent 26 years in the Army Reserve and started to
receive Tricare at age 60.

Before that I was "un-insurable" with severe rheumatoid arthritis.

Even with an exposure to the health care industry of a little over two years as an un
insured with two knee replacements and biologic infusions that now coast $7000+
every other month I may never be debt free.

Without the Tricare I would be bankrupt by now.

Your health care reform insures that others will not go through what I have.

You have answered the question "what would Jesus do ?".

Thank You President Obama for all your work Health reform, social security, Troops all
branches, financial reform, all other areas in helping the people of the USA and most of
all for taking the job.

I know this is hard to take but you have done more for the working
stiff than any body, and you are not getting credit for it.
Politics is something I will never understand.

Good luck,

fred powell
Sir, you SHOULD be thanked, NOT vilified as you have been. Imagine not getting credit for doing
the right thing!

Well Sir, here is my THANK YOU straight from the heart.

For pushing on, even when Health Care was 'declared dead'.

We ARE our brother's/sister's keeper. Too bad, many of my fellow Americans have forgotten
that.

In times of adversity, those are the times you have to reach in even deeper, to find the reserves.
They're there. Just have to dig to find them.

Keep the faith Sir. We love you!

Thank for Health Insurance Reform, for fighting against the Grand Obstructionist Party
to bring Green Jobs to Middle class Americans.

I support you and am fighting everyday to elect Democrats that will fight for Americans.

Gloria Smith, Newark Ohio

Dear President Obama,

I cannot tell you how much it means to me to have you as our President. You were put in a
daunting position and have been faced with nothing but adversity since you took office. You have
done an amazing job and I am so very proud to call you, President Obama!!! I worked very hard
to help in any way I could to support you in the election and was so very proud of America for
finally doing the "correct" thing as opposed to the "right" thing! Sorry, had to put the play on
words in there. You and Mrs. Obama are an inspiration to me and to so many of my friends and
family. You are fighting to support all Americans and to knock down the partisan walls that have
been erected over the years. I'm embarrassed by the Americans that have become hateful
people. It saddens me to see that side of people and know that it's only because they are from a
different political party, so they knock every idea or change down whether they agree with it or
not.

Please don't get discouraged! I know that you are faced with a tremendous amount of pressure
and what might seem insurmountable problems, but please know that there are so many of us out
here that appreciate everything that you, your wife, and the administration are doing for us. We
know what you were faced with and know that our country cannot afford to take a step backward.
We know you will do everything in your power to keep us on track in the years to come.

Thank you for the dedication and sacrifice of your personal life that you have given to the
American People!

Respectfully,
Marcia Shivar
Mr. President, you are no where near getting enough credit for all you have
done to save our economy and introduce new measures for a better society,
such as health care, and do all of this in the face of unprecedented and
totally misapplied opposition from Congress and a hostile atmosphere in the
press.

You have accomplished an astoundingly great deal for us in two

years, and my husband and I thank you.

Mr. and Mrs. Steven S. Greenwald

I know you don't hear this often enough!!

Thank you for Health Care Reform and all that you do to try to help our country!!

Angela Barton
I think the president has done a good job considering the spoiled brat juveniles he has to
work with. My big issue from the beginning was health care. I thank you for trying but
it falls way short of help. Insurance companies are already raising their rates. How can
the health of any individual be a for-profit system? As long as insurance companies are a
part of the equation things will never be any different. Somebody needs to just bite the
bullet and make it socialized medicine.
Anne Brandt
President Obama, I want to thank you for all your hard work you have done in your first
year and a half in office.

You were given a full plate of problems from day 1 of taking office : war, jobs, economy,
SSI, immigration and many more.

I still believe you only want what is best for the people of our country and I believe that
you will continue to do your job. I am very proud of you and my family feels indebted to
you for getting the health bill passed.

As time goes on all people will see what a truly great thing you have done, Thank you
for having the courage to follow through on your beliefs even when other people
disagree.

Barbara Byrd
President Obama,

I want to thank you for doing what you have been able to do so far. Plus to do this with out any
help what so ever from the Republicans I would say you have "done what you could".

It is shameful that they have decided not to help their country in a time of great need for their own
political needs.

You and ALL Democrats should be pointing out that we have been following "Republican policies"
for the better part of 30 out of the last 40 years and it has put us where we are and that it is going
to take longer than 2 years to get it ALL straightened out.

You all should say this over and over again and VERY LOUDLY every time that you can.

Thanks again for everything!

CRAIG HOLDERBY
Thank you Mr. President. I'm hoping to be able to afford a colonoscopy by January.

I'm 63, healthy, and getting such a test for the first time.

I hope many more people will realize that they now have more control over their health.....and that
you stay healthy and keep on woking on reforms even if they aren't yet popular.

Thank you again...for being brave and persistent enough to get something done.
