The new battery must be integrated completely Call in the architecture of the MLB. The contractor Develops on

Appropriate battery management electronic.

This electronic must fulfill the function of the MLB standard and has to comply with the Following structure. The electronic must be Organized in
Following components:

Battery Management Control (BMC)

The BMC presents the central computing system of the battery management electronic. All safety relevant analysis, algorithm and diagnoses of the
specifications must be Implemented in the BMC.

The BMC presents the connection interface to the car, in accor dance with specific architecture. The communication interface has to be

Realized with CAN FD bus. The CAN FD bus has to be terminated with a 2x4k7 ohm resistor.

Cell module control (CMC)

The CMC presents the interface of cells and BMC.

The CMC's collect the measurement data's of cells, as voltage and temperature, etc. and Provides thesis for Further Processing of the BMC.

The CMC includes the cell balancing unit (passive balancing with resistors and switches).

Battery junction box (BJB)

The BJB presents the functional unit of the battery management electronic with the current measurement as well as the dividing element and the
total voltage measurement (before and after the dividing element).

The precharge circuit is not an integral part of the 48V battery.

The CMC's collect the measurement data's of cells, as voltage and temperature, etc. and Provides thesis for Further Processing of the BMC.

The CMC includes the cell balancing unit (passive balancing with resistors and switches).

The battery management electronic with all parts (BMC, CMC, BJB) can be built as a central system. This Means, all part need not to be physically
separated, but must be divided into logical function blocks (BMC, CMC, BJB).

All internal signals and messages must have a nomenclature for the above-named function blocks, did lead to a clear allocation of messages and
signaling to the Appropriate function.

The architectural specifications and the communication matrix of the MLB construction kit are mandatory for Implementing of the functional
architecture shown.

2.11 Requirements of Functional Safety

- The supplier must ensure their own responsibility, that at any time under all conditions can not ride safety-related conditions occur.

- The ISO 26262 standard is applied as binding

- The MV-lithium-ion battery is to be executed intrinsically safe.

- Personal protection is a top priority

- Reliability has priority over replacement functionality

- The system must be designed so that individual errors and single errors in connection with sleeping errors lead to manageable
system reactions.

- The system must be designed so that double faults and double faults as necessary according to the state of science and technology
release to the market, leading to uncontrollable system reactions.

- For the purposes of the highest possible availability stepped error responses are desirable.

- Interference from EMC and ESD must not lead to safety hazards.

- A technical safety concept for the implementation of appropriate measures to achieve the security objectives and security
requirements (hardware design, monitoring and shutdown by software, ...) must be drawn up by the contractor in consultation with
the client. The technical security concept must be given to the client, it must be handed over both design objects as well as the final
version.

- It must contain at least the following information in the technical safety concept:

O Representation of ASIL relevant measurement paths active paths, Power supply

concept

O ASIL decomposition and grounds its admissibility

O Requirements for components and systems outside the scope of delivery

O References to security objectives and security requirements of this burden-

notebook

O Details for exchange and inspection can be found in Development Inter-

face Agreement (DIA).

- Initial implementation or changes of monitoring functions must be voted on before the reaction with the OEM (Division I / EE-84).
The supplier is providing the OEM in time before the software implementation of the functional documentation of new or revised
monitoring function ready (Division I / EE-84).

- In general, it should be noted that should be carried out even in security-related reactions as robust as possible parameterization
incl. A corresponding debouncing, as long as this the default security objectives, including the fault-tolerance times are not violated.

- ASIL decompositions taking account of external components / systems (components and systems outside the scope of supply) are
not permitted. Deviations require approval from Audi.

- The predetermined error tolerance times taking into account the system-related response, signal delay times, running time effects
(for example, jitter), processing time, etc. in favor of a robust as possible to exploit completely debouncing.
