Ireland, the patrimony of St.

Patrick and supposedly a Catholic republic, has passed new

legislation through its parliament that will force Catholic doctors to murder infants in the
womb beginning Jan. 1.

The radical abortion law titled "Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy Bill 2018"
was signed into law Thursday by Ireland's pro-abortion president, Michael Higgins, and takes
force next month. The new law legalizes the slaughter of the unborn up to 12 weeks of
gestation for any reason and up to 24 weeks for a variety of cases. It also provides no
conscience protections for healthcare workers and forces Catholic hospitals to provide free
abortions that are paid for by taxpayers.

The bill is being fast-tracked with the government ignoring all contrary petitions. Dozens of
doctors walked out of national physicians' meeting earlier this month to protest the lack of
consultation. Irish citizens have been kept largely in the dark about the contents of the bill
and are stunned when told of its sweeping nature.

Catholics around the world are being asked to pray for Ireland, which is now the first country
to legalize abortion by popular ballot. Last May, the highly Catholic country voted by a two-
thirds majority to strike down the Eighth Amendment that banned abortion in their country.

Ireland seems to have lost its Catholic moorings with the approval of same-sex marriage in
2015 and now opening the gates to legalized abortion slated for 2019. Catholics may recall,
however, an ancient prophecy dating back to St. Patrick which shows that the Catholic faith
in Ireland would be largely dimmed but never completely snuffed out on the island. It's
recounted how the great saint one day was graced with the following vision:

He saw the whole of Ireland lit up with the brightest rays of Divine Faith. This
continued for centuries, and then clouds gathered around the devoted island, and, little
by little, the religious glory faded away, until, in the course of centuries, it was only in
the remotest valleys that some glimmer of its light remained. Saint Patrick prayed that
the light would never be extinguished, and, as he prayed, the angel came to him and
said: "Fear not: your apostolate shall never cease." As he thus prayed, the glimmering
light grew in brightness, and ceased not until once more all the hills and valleys
of Ireland were lit up in their pristine splendor, and then the angel announced to St.
Patrick: "Such shall be the abiding splendor of divine truth in Ireland."
