Large spillages Transfer material to a labelled, sealable container either for re-use or safe

Human health hazards After swallowing followed by vomiting, the product can enter the lungs, which can
cause chemical pneumonitis or suffocation.
Safety hazards Flammable. In use, may form flammable/explosive vapour-air mixture. Electrostatic
charges may be generated during handling.
Environmental hazards Toxic to aquatic organisms. May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic
environment.

4. First Aid Measures

Symptoms and effects Inhalation may cause headache, dizziness, nausea, narcosis, irritation of mucous
membranes. Skin contact may cause irritation, dryness of the skin. Eye contact
may cause transitory pain.
Inhalation Remove to fresh air.
Skin Wash skin with water using soap if available. If persistent irritation occurs, obtain
medical attention.
Eyes Flush eye with water.
Ingestion Do not induce vomiting. Give nothing by mouth. OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION
IMMEDIATELY.

Specific hazards Carbon monoxide may be evolved if incomplete combustion occurs. Will float and
can be re-ignited on surface water. The vapour is heavier than air, spreads along
the ground and distant ignition is possible.
Extinguishing media Foam, water spray or fog. Dry chemical powder, carbon dioxide, sand or earth may
be used for small fires only.
Unsuitable extinguishing media Water in a jet.
Protective equipment Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus.
