Caption of the Document.

8 Notice that the line spacing from the words "r~EPUBLIC OF THE

PHILIPPINES" to "x---------------------x" is single spaced. The distance from the

venue of the case ("Branch 16, Quezon City") to the first line of the title of the

case is three single spaces The distance from "x----------------x" to the title of the

pleading ("Sample Pleading") is also three single spaces The distance from the

title of the pleading until "Petitionel, by undersigned counsel" is also three single

spaces

B. Line Spacing in the Body of the


Pleading.

9 When it comes to the body of tile pleading, the line spacing for the

11. Line spacing between the end of one paragraph and a subheading is

also 15 lines. However, if it happens that a subheading is found on the

bottom of a page and is not followed by a paragraph, text or signpost,

move the subheading to the next page Simply put, no subheading should be

found idle on the bottom of a page Bottom of page is example of what not to do

13 In the CAPTION of special proceedings and uncontested or ex parte

matters, the case number should be found on the opposite side corresponding to

applicants.

oppositors or intervenors appeal, the case nurnbel should be found on the

opposite side corresponding to the space between the names of the parties (See

above caption)
15. Subheadings and signposts aid the reader in reading and reviewing
the document. They help break down long portions of the pleading, alert readers

when important POlllts are to be made and provide boundaries between portions

of a pleading or between arguments The use of subheadings and signposts are

encouraged. In certain court documents, however, the use of subheadings is


mandatory.
