Use of application examples
Application examples illustrate the solution of automation tasks through an interaction of several
components in the form of text, graphics and/or software modules. The application examples are
a free service by Siemens AG and/or a subsidiary of Siemens AG ("Siemens"). They are
non-binding and make no claim to completeness or functionality regarding configuration and
equipment. The application examples merely offer help with typical tasks; they do not constitute
customer-specific solutions. You yourself are responsible for the proper and safe operation of the
products in accordance with applicable regulations and must also check the function of the
respective application example and customize it for your system.
Siemens grants you the non-exclusive, non-sublicensable and non-transferable right to have the
application examples used by technically trained personnel. Any change to the application
examples is your responsibility. Sharing the application examples with third parties or copying the
application examples or excerpts thereof is permitted only in combination with your own products.
The application examples are not required to undergo the customary tests and quality inspections
of a chargeable product; they may have functional and performance defects as well as errors. It is
your responsibility to use them in such a manner that any malfunctions that may occur do not
result in property damage or injury to persons.
Disclaimer of liability
Siemens shall not assume any liability, for any legal reason whatsoever, including, without
limitation, liability for the usability, availability, completeness and freedom from defects of the
application examples as well as for related information, configuration and performance data and
any damage caused thereby. This shall not apply in cases of mandatory liability, for example
under the German Product Liability Act, or in cases of intent, gross negligence, or culpable loss of
life, bodily injury or damage to health, non-compliance with a guarantee, fraudulent
non-disclosure of a defect, or culpable breach of material contractual obligations. Claims for
damages arising from a breach of material contractual obligations shall however be limited to the
Siemens AG 2018 All rights reserved
foreseeable damage typical of the type of agreement, unless liability arises from intent or gross
negligence or is based on loss of life, bodily injury or damage to health. The foregoing provisions
do not imply any change in the burden of proof to your detriment. You shall indemnify Siemens
against existing or future claims of third parties in this connection except where Siemens is
mandatorily liable.
By using the application examples you acknowledge that Siemens cannot be held liable for any
damage beyond the liability provisions described.
Other information
Siemens reserves the right to make changes to the application examples at any time without
notice. In case of discrepancies between the suggestions in the application examples and other
Siemens publications such as catalogs, the content of the other documentation shall have
precedence.
The Siemens terms of use (https://support.industry.siemens.com) shall also apply.
Security information
Siemens provides products and solutions with Industrial Security functions that support the secure
operation of plants, systems, machines and networks.
In order to protect plants, systems, machines and networks against cyber threats, it is necessary
to implement – and continuously maintain – a holistic, state-of-the-art industrial security concept.
Siemens’ products and solutions constitute one element of such a concept.
Customers are responsible for preventing unauthorized access to their plants, systems, machines
and networks. Such systems, machines and components should only be connected to an
enterprise network or the Internet if and to the extent such a connection is necessary and only
when appropriate security measures (e.g. firewalls and/or network segmentation) are in place.
For additional information on industrial security measures that may be implemented, please visit
https://www.siemens.com/industrialsecurity.
Siemens’ products and solutions undergo continuous development to make them more secure.
Siemens strongly recommends that product updates are applied as soon as they are available
and that the latest product versions are used. Use of product versions that are no longer
supported, and failure to apply the latest updates may increase customer’s exposure to cyber
threats.

1.2 Requirements
The water industry is closely connected to our environment. In addition to process
engineering, it also sets technical, economic and environmental requirements.
Cost reduction in planning, engineering, maintenance and repair times as well as
employee training are just as much a part of this as the total cost of all investments
incurred over their entire life cycle (Total Cost of Ownership = TCO).
The technical requirements are focused on scalable solutions using S7-300/S7-400
hardware, tailored from the smallest system to complex large-scale SIMATIC PCS
7 plants. High availability must be guaranteed at all times and at all levels
(operations management, operator control and monitoring, automation, field or
process level). The simple integration of remote control technology, process
instrumentation, energy distributions, drive solutions, gates, valves and frequency
inverters has also been taken into consideration.

Note The PCS 7 Library is a prerequisite for the operation of the S7 Water Templates,
since driver blocks from this library are used in the CFC plans.
The PCS 7 Library is no longer included by default with PCS 7 V9.0 SP1.
However, you can download these free of charge in the article "SIMATIC PCS 7

Engineering templates are based on the physical model of the standards NAMUR
NE33 and ISA S88.01 (ANSI/ISA-88.01-1995) and are structured as follows:
Figure 1-2
Siemens AG 2018 All rights reserved
Templates
Templates consist of clustered function blocks typified as:
and contain:
• Input/output signals
• Technological functions (e.g. engine)
• Panel and local controls
• Monitoring functions and recording of operating hours.
Unit Templates
Unit Templates consist of templates and Equipment Module Templates with
hierarchical structures, which are connected to a plant section (e.g. storage
channel).
In the water industry, Engineering Templates are ideally used with water-specific
functionalities and industry-specific properties. These Water Engineering
Templates (WET) consist of three groups:
Water Templates
Table 1-1
Siemens AG 2018 All rights reserved
Note This document describes primarily the design and use of S7 Water Control
Module Types for S7-300 hardware in PCS 7. In the following descriptions, the
term "S7 Water Template(s)" is primarily used.
The term "water-specific" takes into account the legal requirements and guidelines
for water or wastewater treatment plant operators, which have to be adhered to in
the construction, operation, maintenance and care.
The most important water-specific requirement is to ensure plant operation in case
of partial/complete failure of the process control, remote control and/or automation
technology.
Standardized solutions for PCS 7 water projects are available in the S7 Water
Templates for this and other requirements:
Note From SIMATIC PCS 7 V8.2 onwards, the S7 WPTTs are omitted, to be fully
replaced by individual control modules.
The S7 control module types (WCMT_S7) are enhanced S7 process tag types with
special benefits for mass data engineering with COMOS/PCS 7 Plant Automation
Accelerator:
• Instance-specific changes to the instance of the control module are not lost
during synchronization between type and instance.
• It is also possible to create different instances from a single S7 control module
type. In addition to this, optional blocks are also configured in the S7 control
module type. Before creating the instances, it is possible to determine in
COMOS/PCS 7 Plant Automation Accelerator whether or not to activate the
optional blocks in the corresponding instance. For this purpose, the additional
view "Technological Connections" has been introduced in the CFC Editor as of
PCS 7 V8.0 SP2. Synchronization data between type and instance is not lost.
Just like the S7 process tag types, the data is stored as a central technological
object in a PCS 7 Master Data Library, consisting of:
The WCMT_S7 are preset to the water-specific functions and can always be
adjusted by the user to the required operational conditions. In doing so, the
templates do not lose their standardization character.
Processing via mass data engineering can also be done with COMOS/PCS 7 Plant
Automation Accelerator.
Water-specific unit templates are available for technical subsystems on the basis of
standardization. They are made up of the APL standard libraries, Industry Library
and SITRANS Library, WCMTs as well as WEMTs.
Note As a prefabricated unit, typical Water Unit templates are available for download
in Siemens Online Support.

As of SIMATIC PCS 7 V8.2, the message class "Status message AS" must be set for all
operating messages. This message class only supports the signal change 0-> 1 (incoming).
Signal change 1-> 0 (outgoing) is not recognized and supported. To ensure that the messages
"Engine off" or "slide stop" are archived correctly, these signals must also be interconnected at
MonDi08. With this message variant, all system states from the archive can be filtered swiftly
and unambiguously and visualized.
Note In the "S7WCMT_V901" library, the S7_WCMT are additionally equipped with
several MonDi08 message blocks. These are very resource-intensive with regard
to PBK connections, so that the maximum limit of 300 PBK in the S7-300
architecture can be reached very quickly. In order to avoid any signal loss in this
context, the S7-300 should preferably be equipped with a UPS power supply
during project planning. Alternatively, higher-level messages (e.g. NSHV/MSHV)
must be implemented using locking technology so that no flood of messages
occurs. The complex message processing according to the bit message
procedure via the FreeMessage module is no longer necessary.

The separate engineering tool TIA portal V14 SP1 Upd4 is used for the integration
of the IPC/Comfort Panel. The licensed software packages SIMOCODE ES 2007 +
SP7 or STARTER V4.4.0.0 are required for engineering with SIMOCODE pro V or
SINAMICS G120, depending on the application.
Note You can find an overview of the installed software in section 5.1 "Installed
software".
Note What are the system requirements for using SIMATIC PCS 7 Industry Library?

messages, which are simultaneously pending is 300 PBKs. If this limit is exceeded
there is a risk of message loss. Experience has shown that up to approx. 240 PBKs
can be used for calculation and approx. 20% are provided as reserve for the
system and/or communication messages. Memory requirements (S7 Water
Templates, communication, approx. 20 % reserve in general) and PBK determine
the CPU type!

1.5.3 Rule of thumb for CPU selection without remote control technology
These can be additionally used in S7 package units or S7 RTU stations via remote
control technology (SINAUT ST7, IEC, DNP 3) or remote data transmission. To
achieve consistent engineering (CFC) of decentralized RTU stations with PCS 7
TeleControl (TC) and SWL Adv., coordinated marshalling modules (engines,
measurements, sliders, controllers, etc.) are available for SINAUT ST7 telecontrol
transmission. These blocks, including block icons and APL-compliant faceplates,
form part of the PCS 7 Telecontrol. With regard to the SIMATIC CPU and the
memory available, even the necessary system resources must be taken into
consideration. In this case, one has to consider two aspects, which are also
connected to the previously described estimates for the S7 Water Templates:
Siemens AG 2018 All rights reserved
• SINAUT project planning: The SINAUT project planning itself requires about 20
KB of work memory + approx. 0.5 KB of work memory by the instance DB, for
each marshaling block connected to the SINAUT ST 7 Par12D_R block.
• The marshalling block (FB) requires approximately 1 KB work memory for
every technological IL block + about 0.5 KB of work memory for the instance
DB. Approx. 0.5 KB should be added for each additional technological object
with the same function.
Note All values are to be considered as guide values and must be examined in detail!
Further information about the integration of S7-300 / IM 151-8 with the Industry
Library in PCS 7 can be found in the following articles:

Note This document describes primarily the design and use of S7 Water Templates. In
the following descriptions, the term "S7 Water Template(s)" is primarily used.
This is identical to the above-described term for "Water Templates".

Table 1-10
Template Description
WEMT_IEC_OrgCom Establishment of IEC 60870 communication
With the use of water-specific control module types, in this example WCMT,
different types of instances can be created in the project. An instance is a copy of
the type and is adapted to the respective requirements by activating optional
blocks. Necessary changes, such as the extension by additional message or
channel modules, are not carried out at every instance, but centrally at the type
(template) in the master data library.
Selecting a variant
By default, the "Optional" attribute of all the blocks is deactivated in a variant, that
is, the required blocks must be connected in a project- and task-specific way. This
reduces the memory requirements and the required CPU project objects.
A variant and the options necessary for solving the automation task are determined
in the instance. The individual steps are described below.

The ON/OFF control commands are passed on from S7Mot to the output module
via the QutStart (CH_DO) block.
The operation of the drive is ready for integration with the multi-user concept
(MWK) via the WEMT_S7UsrM.
Note For more information on the multi-waiting concept, see the section:
2.1.2 CFC subplan A/sheet 2.
By default, the following controls of different control locations are taken into
account in the sample chart WCMT_S7MotLean, which is typically used in the
water industry:
• PCS 7 OS operation of the S7 Water Templates via faceplate (Automatic,
Manual)
• Button operation (ON/OFF) via input module with PLC (local SW)
• Keyboard operation without PLC incl. signal follow-up mode on PCS 7 OS
(local hardware)
• Panel operation via the faceplate (Automatic, Manual)
• Seamless switchover during change of operating mode from "Local" or
"Manual" to "Auto"
• Seamless switchover during change of operating mode from "Auto" to "Local"
or "Manual"
The signals "e.g. "Engine protection triggered" and "Control fuse triggered" are
connected to the MSS connection of S7Mot via the PROTECT module. In an error-
free state, each one of the two signals provides a "1" signal. If one of the two
monitors trips, S7Mot switches on the drive and reports a fault.
Figure 2-3
Siemens AG 2018 All rights reserved
As shown in the previous figure, the alarms of the S7Mot are corresponding
unchanged to the standard versions of the Industry Library. In addition, eight
further user-definable messages are offered in BYTE format via the input variable
USTATUS. The output variable QOS_STAT provides the eight additional
messages via bits 24 to 31, e.g. for fault signal lamps. With bits 0 to 23, all further
drive-related messages and alarms of the "S7Mot" are available.
Note For further information about the bit message procedure topic, please refer to the

The block BO_BY (FreeMessages)(1) must be explicitly switched on via the CMT
variants for remote control technology. The message assignment and activation is
performed via the DBA. In the local application without remote control technology, it
is recommended this block be switched off and that only the message structures of
the MonDi08 blocks be used. The associated message structure is described in
subplan A sheet 3.
Note You can find further information in the "Industry Library for S7" manual using the
keyword "ABS".

S7Mot provides an additional operating hours counter and switching cycle capture
for preventive maintenance. The drive block captures and processes starting
cycles, standstill and execution times without requiring any further external block
evaluations. On the PCS 7 OS, these captured values can be read and edited in
the parameter view of the WCMT_S7MotLean faceplate. At the time being, no tags
are activated in the technological block WCMT_S7MotLean for short-term or long-
term archiving of data.
the IPC/Comfort Panel via PROFIBUS DP/PROFINET and the switchable local on-
site controls, with and without automation connection for drive control.
Data exchange
The IL blocks S7Mot and S7PMot are interconnected with the identifier "QOP_" or "
OP_" via the input/output tags. An output tag IDBNR on S7PMot links the AS with
the icons and the corresponding faceplates on the IPC/Comfort Panel via not less
than one instance DB with resource-dependent "structure". The IDBNR is the
communications interface between devices. The data exchange on the
IPC/Comfort Panel in the TIA Portal takes place with symbolic addressing.

Panel operation
The following schematic image shows the communication between automation
(S7-300), IPC/Comfort Panel and PCS 7 OS. The S7 Panel block always has a
direct link to the technological S7 block. If the Panel block S7PMot and the
technological block S7Mot are connected to the WEMT_S7UsrM (from the sample
solution), the inclusive integration of a multi-user concept (MWK) is done including
the PCS 7 OS servers.

The multi-user concept can manage up to 8 different control locations (OS server
and/or IPC/Comfort Panel). The term "control location" is to be classified as a
location such as a local control room or Comfort Panel. Each control location
receives its own switching permission number (PERM = permission), which is
created in the PCS 7 project under "Shared declarations/enumerations" and
connected to the WEMT_S7UsrM.
Figure 2-7
The parameters for the communication links needed between AS and Comfort
Panel/IPC must be assigned in the HW Config and NetPro. In addition, the
configuration must also be configured in the TIA Portal V14 SP1 Upd4 depending
on the panel type (IPC/Comfort Panel).

Local on-site operation from the field (Local HW) is purely hardware-based and
provides an independent emergency operating level in the event of automation
failure.
When the local switch (-K13) is pressed, the "1" signal is passed on via "LocalHW"
to the "LocalEvent" ("1" signal) and "RemoteEvent" ("0" signal) blocks. This
switches the "REMOTE" input from the S7Mot block to local on-site operation. At
the same time, a "1" signal is output to the LocalSetting block via the LocalHW
block. The S7Mot local input "LOCAL_S", which is linked to it, is set to tracking =
hardware-based local control.
The hardware solution shown above is activated by changing the parameter IN1 of
the "Local_0_Pos_Act" block from 0->1 in the WCMT S7MotLean software plan
WCMT. Local on-site operation takes into account switching between on-site, a
neutral intermediate position and remote (local - 0 - remote). If both variants of
local operation (LocalSW + LocalHW) are used simultaneously, the hardware
control (LocalHW) always has priority over the software control (LocalSW).

Subplan A sheet 3 takes into account the permission, protection, and locking
function of WCMT_S7MotLean. Double Interlock16 blocks from the PCS 7 CFC
Library provide a simple connection to the "LOCK" function of the S7Mot. The
locking function Interlock is conceptually similar to the LOCK connection type of
older PCS 7 versions.
When the locking conditions are fulfilled, the drive goes into the safety position. If
the locking conditions are no longer met, the drive can be restarted without
resetting the interlock. A logical "1" at the inputs IN1..IN16 means the good state.
Logical "0" means that interlocking is active. When the locking conditions are
fulfilled, the drive immediately goes into the safety position/disconnects.
Figure 2-12
Siemens AG 2018 All rights reserved
The newly implemented reporting behavior was carried out with two S7MonDi08
blocks. The S7MonDi08 blocks receive the operating and fault messages from the
input drivers for drive monitoring in Sheet 5.
Protect16
All the input signals at Protect16 block are in a "good" status with signal "1" . If one
of the input signals falls off ("0"), the drive is software-locked and at the same time
the power output of the drive is enabled in hardware. The drive interlock only
terminates when all the input signals are reset ("1") and the lock is reset in the
S7MotL standard view.
Engine protection
The engine protection (subplan A/sheet 5) is connected via the CH_DI input driver
"TripMMS" to the input "In01" of the Protect16.
Control fuse
The control fuse (subplan A/sheet 5) is connected to input "In02" of the Protect16
via the CH_DI input driver "TripCF".
Dry-run protection
The dry run protection (subplan A/sheet 5) is connected via the CH_DI input driver
PpProt_AL with the input "In05" of the Protect16.
Interlock16
All the input signals at Protect16 block are in status good with signal "1". If one of
the input signals falls off ("0"), the drive is software-locked and at the same time the
power output of the drive is enabled in hardware. The drive interlock only
terminates when all the input signals are present ("1") without reset of the lock in
the MotL standard view.

Torque Open:
The "Torque Open" signal (subplan A/sheet 5) is connected via the CH_DI input
driver TorqOpen to the input "In01" of the interlock16 .
Torque Close
The "Torque Close" signal (subplan A/sheet 5) is connected via the CH_DI input
driver TorqClose to the input "In02" of the interlock16 .
Engine overcurrent
The engine overcurrent (subplan A/sheet 5) can be implemented via block AV and
is connected to input "In07" of interlock16.
Note For further information about the interlocking function, refer to the S7 manual of
the Industry Library:

If a component of the input periphery reports a faulty signal quality, a "1" signal is
transmitted to the connected input "CSF" of the S7MotL component.
The drive monitoring (engine protection, control fuse, torque monitoring, chain and
belt monitoring, filter monitoring and/or other special functions) including engine
current recording with zero point suppression are implemented in chart partition A
sheet 5 of WCMT_S7MotLean.

The S7 Water Templates keep the range ready for further communication
enhancements in all chart partitions A sheet 6. This subplan is conceptually ready
for local data exchange, serial connections or remote control technology.
In the case of controller, engine slide units and frequency inverters, prefabricated
switching units are provided, interconnected with one connection by means of a
quick tailor-made connection (plug and coupling). This pre-configured variant can
be extended at any time in a task-specific manner.
As of PCS 7 V8.2, the associated marshalling for SINAUT ST7 telecontrol protocol
between S7 IL module and PCS 7 TeleControl is provided in this subplan. When
using the SINAUT ST7 telecontrol technology, the FreeMessage module can
optionally be switched on via the technological objects and the S7MonDi08
signalling and alarm modules can optionally be switched off.
The use and connection of the Marshalling SINAUT ST7 modules with PCS 7
TeleControl can be found in the respective manual.
Note When engineering the Marshalling blocks for SINATU ST7, all relevant
connections to the associated S7 IL blocks are prepared. The valid telegram
number (see default value on the block) for this S7 WCMT must be updated
project and task specific.

Each control module type (WCMT_S7 / process tag type (WPTT_S7)) and tag type
(WPTTs) of the S7 Water Templates receives only one image symbol on the OS
for the technological core function, including the associated Panel image symbol if
necessary (the latter is missing if the block is deselected or unavailable). The
standard faceplates of S7Mot (IL) are used without changes in WCMT_S7MotLean.
Note The used faceplates and symbols of the WCMT_S7MotLean are contained in the
corresponding profile. You can download the profiles separately from the article

data exchange is used. Basic type 2 and basic type 3 are identical in the first 4
bytes of input and 2 bytes of output data. Base type 3 provides the following
information from byte 5 to byte 19 in addition to the channel block FbSwtMMS via
the peripheral addressing:
• Motor temperature in [° C]
• cos phi
• Active power in [W]
• Apparent power in [VA]
• Active energy in [kWh]
The provided SIMOCODE measured values were created as examples for the
SIMOCODE WCMT and can be modified for specific projects. For example, you
can change the parameter active energy with the parameter operating hours.
In addition, you must adapt the provided SIMOCODE device parameterization and
the WCMT.
The following figure gives a schematic description of the input and output interfaces
of SIMOCODE pro V ES and the channel block FbSwtMMS. The SIMOCODE pro
V contains the telegram structure of the "basic type 2" with 4 byte input and 2 byte

The control and message data of the drive is supplied/removed via the action
blocks Datensatz69By0-1", Datensatz69By2-3 or Datensatz67By0-1. The S7Mot
evaluates the cyclic messages received and sends the control signals cyclically
back to the SIMOCODE pro V.
The engine current [%] sent by SIMOCODE pro V via the field bus is scaled and
processed further in subplan A sheet 5. The additionally provided messages on
SIMOCODE pro V are transmitted to the "USTATUS" of S7Mot via the
FreeMessages block.

analog value "Engine current" is offered in the "Exchange" block either in [%]"
(SIMOCODE standard) or in a scalable measuring range, e.g. 0...10 A via a two-
point equation.
The two point equation can be programmed and adapted to any measuring range.
A programmable delay time suppresses an alarm message in case of a short-term
exceeding of Imax (chatter suppression). If this time is exceeded and simultaneous
value > Imax, an alarm message is generated.
An additional zero point suppression can also be activated as an offset (0.0 A). The
offset suppresses a measured-value drift < 0.0 A. This function is optional and can
be configured according to the plant or removed in the WCMT.

1. The local control point (two-point operation) on the SIMOCODE is activated via
a switch with normally open contact.
(Local HW On/Remote = 1/0). The signal is transferred to the "GG inputs"
software module of SIMOCODE ES via the hardware connection IN1 and input
variable on the SIMOCODE. The output "LOCAL HW" of GG inputs is
connected with SIMOCODE ES and the communication block "Cycle". Signal 1
wired with input variable "STATUS8"". The standard telegram provides this

2. The activation of the maintenance switch on SIMOCODE is also carried out via
a switch with NO contact (maintenance switch ON/maintenance switch OFF ->
Maintenance = 1/0). The signal is transmitted to the software block "GG inputs"
of SIMOCODE ES via the hardware connection IN4 on SIMOCODE. The
output "Maint" of GG inputs is interconnected with SIMOCODE ES and the
communication block "Cycl. Report 1 interconnected with input tag "OoS_Act"".
The standard telegram provides this external signal cyclically on the PCS 7
driver FbSwtMMS via the output tag "Oos_Act".
Optionally, the controls and the associated feedback messages can also be done
by means of pushbuttons/switches or indicator lights. However this requires
parameter reassignment with SIMOCODE ES or PDM (subject to license). The
"ON/OFF" connections from the function block "Control points" to the function block
"BB keys" are deleted and connected to the connections of the function block "GG
inputs". The feedback signals QLE/QLA of the function block "Protect/Control"
must be interconnected from the function block "BB-LED" to the function block "GG
outputs" or to an additional SIMOCODE output module.
Note You can find further information in the SIMOCODE pro System Manual:

The parameters of the local control location switchover S1/S2 (HW Local/Remote)
are assigned via the Engineering Tool SIMOCODE ES. In section 2.2.7 Drive
parameter assignment with SIMOCODE ES is the appropriate setting for a correct
functionality in connection with the WCMT_S7MotLean_FbMMS and SIMOCODE
ES stored.
The S7 Water Templates also provide the suitable drive parameters for
SIMOCODE ES with each template that has SIMOOCODE pro V connection. The
path "...\SWL_Adv901s7\Simocode\" contains the location of the SIMOCODE ES
files MotL, Mot2Spd, MotRev, VlvL and VlvMot for PROFIBUS and PROFINET.

With the key switch (Pos.2) the on-site operation is activated. For maintenance and
service work on the engine, the repair switch is handed over to the MotL as a Maint
function to enable the drive.
The local local operation, after activation by a key switch, takes into account a
switchover between local, remote and a neutral intermediate position (local - 0 -
remote).
The drive is switched on or off via hardware from the connected SIMOCODE
control Panel. If a fault occurs, SIMOCODE locks the drive. As soon as the fault is
remedied and acknowledged, the drive interlock is released and the drive is ready
to be switched on again.
Note When using PROFINET in conjunction with the S7-WCMTs, contact your
regional Siemens sales partner.
For each individual control module type (WCMT_S7 / measuring point type
(WPTT_S7) of the S7 Water Templates, only one icon for the technological core

The control and message data of the SINAMICS G120 are supplied/removed via
the conversion blocks PZDOut 1 and PZDOut 2 or PZDIn1… PZDIn6. The IL block
VSD evaluates the cyclically sent messages sent and sends the control signals
cyclically back to the frequency inverter.
The transmitted analog values PZDIn 2 = speed [%], PZDIn 4 = Torque [Nm] and
PZDIn 5 = total power [kW] are available to the user for further processing. PZDIn
3 = engine current [%] is scaled and further processed in subplan A sheet 5.
Additionally provided messages from the SINAMICS G120 are passed on to the
"USTATUS" of VSD via the PZDIn1 and FreeMessages block:
• IN0: Warning is active
• IN1: Engine overload warning
• IN2: Frequency inverter overload warning
