Building a foundation 12/23/14 7:40 AM

The purpose of this lesson will be to go over the building blocks of our faith. This will be the
foundation of our faith. I want to build and help others understand why we believe the way we
believe. These next lessons will help you explain the walk to family, friends, and Christians that
you come across that desire to understand our faith.

Our Foundation is in scripture. We should first understand what scripture was then. Whatever
scripture was then IS scripture now.
• Dan. 10:21 But I will show you that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there
is none that holds with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
o 3791. bDt;Dk kathab, kaw-thawb´; from 3789; something written, i.e. a writing,

there: and I will give you tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written;
that you may teach them.

• Matt. 21:42 Yahusha says unto them, Did you never read in the scriptures, The stone
which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is
Yahuah’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?
o Psa. 118:22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of
the corner.
o Psa. 118:23 This is Yahuah’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.

• Mark 15:28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which says, And he was numbered with
the transgressors.
o Is. 53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall
divide the spoil with the strong; because he has poured out his soul unto death:
and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and
made intercession for the transgressors.

• John 10:34 Yahusha answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, You are
alahiym?
• Lamadyahu Yashra'al Page 2 12/23/14If he called them alahiym, unto whom the
word of Alahiym came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
o 089. lu/w luo, loo´-o; a primary verb; to “loosen” (literally or figuratively):
— break (up), destroy, dissolve, (un-)loose, melt, put off. Compare 4486
o Just as it says in Deut. 4:2, and 12:32.

• John 10:36 Say you of him, whom the Father has purified, and sent into the world,

pierced.
o Psa. 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have
enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
o Psa. 22:17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.

o Zech. 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of Daud (David), and upon the
inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of favor and of supplications: and they
shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as
one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is
in bitterness for his firstborn.

• Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you,
while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the
law of Mushah (Mashah/Moses), and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

scriptures,

are they which witness of me.

days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
• Acts 17:3 Opening and alleging, that Mashiyach must needs have suffered, and risen
again from the dead; and that this Yahusha, whom I preach unto you, is Mashiyach.

• Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received
the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those
things were so.
• Acts 17:12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honorable women which were
Greeks, and of men, not a few.

• Acts 18:24 ¶ And a certain Yahudiy named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent
man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
• Acts 18:25 This man was instructed in the way of Yahuah; and being fervent in the
spirit, he spoke and taught diligently the things of Yahuah, knowing only the
immersion of Yahuchanan (Yochanan/John).
• Acts 18:26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and
Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of
Alahiym more perfectly.

exhorting the talmdiym (disciples) to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them
much which had believed through favor:

the scriptures that Yahusha was Mashiyach.

• Rom. 4:3 For what says the scripture? Abraham believed Alahiym, and it was
counted unto him for righteousness.
o Gen. 15:6 And he believed in Yahuah; and he counted it to him for

learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

news, and the preaching of Yahusha Mashiyach, according to the revelation of the
mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
• Rom. 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets,
according to the commandment of the everlasting Alahiym, made known to all
nations for the obedience of faith:

• 2Tim. 3:15 And that from a child you have known the set-apart scriptures, which are
able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Mashiyach Yahusha.
o [they are called set-apart. When you keep them you become set-apart]

• 2Tim. 3:16 All scripture [There is only one thing that is called scripture] is given by inspiration of
Alahiym, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness:
o Prov. 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs
of instruction are the way of life:

• James 2:8 ¶ If you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, You shall love your
neighbor as yourself, you do well: [Lev. 19:18]
• James 2:9 But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, and are convinced of
the law as transgressors.
• James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he
is guilty of all.
• James 2:11 For He that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. [Ex. 20:13-
14]
Now if you commit no adultery, yet if you kill, you are become a transgressor of
the law.
• James 2:12 So speak you, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of
liberty.
o Psa. 119:45 ¶ And I will walk at liberty: for I seek your precepts
[law/commandments]
.

• James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, You has faith, and I have works: show me your
faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
• James 2:19 You believe that there is one Alahiym; you do well: the devils also
believe, and tremble.
• James 2:20 But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

perfect?
• James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which says, Abraham believed Alahiym,
and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of
Alahiym.
o [Notice it was fulfilled because he believed, not done away with through him
fulfilling the scriptures]

• James 2:24 You see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
• James 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had
received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
• James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead
also.

• Works:
o Matt. 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good
works, and esteem your Father which is in heaven.
o Matt. 5:17 ¶ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I
am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
§ Matt. 3:15 And Yahusha answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so
now: for thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he
suffered him.

§ Rom. 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the
Spirit of Alahiym; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto
Illyricum, I have fully preached the good-news of Mashiyach.

o Matt. 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or
one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
o Matt. 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least
commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the
kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be
called great in the kingdom of heaven.
o Matt. 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed
the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into
the kingdom of heaven.

Before we start reading, we will see the word lawless. In the KJV it says iniquity. Some may not
understand they are one in the same. Let us define it now before we read on:
• 458. ajnomi÷a anomia, an-om-ee´-ah; from 459; illegality, i.e. violation of law or
(genitive case) wickedness: — iniquity, x transgress(-ion of) the law,
unrighteousness.
o 459. a‡nomoß anomos, an´-om-os; from 1 (as a negative particle) and 3551;
lawless, i.e. (negatively) not subject to (the Jewish) law; (by implication, a
Gentile), or (positively) wicked: — without law, lawless, transgressor,
unlawful, wicked.

Matt. 7:21 ¶ Not every one that says unto me, Sovereign, Sovereign, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Matt. 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Sovereign, Sovereign, have we not prophesied in
your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful
works?
Matt. 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work
lawlessness.

o Matt. 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the esteem of his Father with
his messengers (angels); and then he shall reward every man according to his
works.

o John 5:36 But I have greater witness than that of Yahuchanan (Yochanan/John):
for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same works that I
do, bear witness of me, that the Father has sent me.

o Rom. 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works?

Nay: but by the law of faith.
o Rom. 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the
deeds [works] of the law.
o Gal. 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it
is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in all things which are
written in the book of the law to do them.
§ 2041. e¶rgon ergon, er´-gon; from a primary (but obsolete) e¶rgw
ergo (to work); toil (as an effort or occupation); by implication, an act:
— deed, doing, labor, work.

o Gal. 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of Alahiym, it is
evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
o Gal. 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that does them shall live in
them.
§ Matt. 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you
pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the
weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought
you to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

o 2Tim. 3:17 That the man of Alahiym may be perfect, thoroughly furnished
unto all good works.

o Titus 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of Alahiym our Saviour toward
man appeared,
o Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness [Is. 51:7 Hearken unto me, you that know
righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear you not the reproach of men, neither be you afraid of their

reviling’s.]
which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the
washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Set-apart Spirit;
o Titus 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Yahusha Mashiyach our
Saviour;
o Titus 3:7 That being justified by his favor, we should be made heirs according
to the hope of eternal life.
o Titus 3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that you affirm
constantly, that they which have believed [faith] in Alahiym might be careful to
maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

o 1John 3:4 ¶ Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the
transgression of the law.
o 1John 3:5 And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in
him is no sin.
o 1John 3:6 Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins has not seen
him, neither known him.
o 1John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness
is righteous, even as he is righteous.
o 1John 3:8 He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the
beginning. For this purpose the Son of Alahiym was manifested, that he might
destroy the works of the devil.
§ What is works of the devil

every man according as his work shall be.

written unto you;
• 2Pet. 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are
some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable
wrestle, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
o Matt. 19:17 And he said unto him, Why call you me good? there is none
good but one, that is, Alahiym: but if you will enter into life, keep the
commandments.

yourselves, and you shall be set-apart; for I am set-apart: neither shall you
defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creeps upon the
earth.
§ Four things should stand out in Timothy.
ú Depart from the Faith
ú Believe and know the truth
ú Every creature that is good [What creatures are called good?]
ú It Must be purified by the Word of Alahiym. This is what
determines what is good, purified for CONSUMPTION.

this you will be saved

• John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his
esteem, the esteem as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of favor and truth.
o The Word made flesh does not cancel out the Word of Alahiym. They are one
in the same. This is where the disconnect comes from in many churches.

There is a warning in Daniel that talks about those changing the law.

The little horn in Daniel has great influence which will change laws and set times.

Dan. 7:24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall
rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
Dan. 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of
the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a
time and times and the dividing of time.

2Th. 2:3 ¶ Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come
a falling away first, and that man of sin [lawlessness] be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th. 2:4 Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called Alahiym, or that is worshipped;
so that he as Alahiym sits in the temple of Alahiym, showing himself that he is Alahiym.
2Th. 2:5 Remember you not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
2Th. 2:6 And now you know what withholds that he might be revealed in his time.
2Th. 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness does already work: only he who now lets will let, until
he be taken out of the way.
2Th. 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom Yahuah shall consume with the spirit of
his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2Th. 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and
lying wonders,
2Th. 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they
received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

unrighteousness.

Shaul

Acts 20:26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
Acts 20:27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of Alahiym.

Matt. 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you pay tithe of mint and anise
and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith:
these ought you to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Matt. 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are like unto whited
sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and
of all uncleanness.
• What is a hypocrite.
• a person who claims or pretends to have certain beliefs about what is right but who
behaves in a way that disagrees with those beliefs
• a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings
Matt. 23:28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within you are full of
hypocrisy and lawlessness.
• This definition describes mainstream Christianity. They say they believe in the
Mashiyach, but do believes the words He stated for us to follow.

Matt. 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one
another.
Matt. 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Matt. 24:12 And because lawlessness shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Matt. 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Rom. 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities [lawlessness] are forgiven, and whose sins
are covered.
• Psa. 51:9 Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
• Psa. 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O Alahiym; and renew a right spirit within me.

Rom. 6:17 But Alahiym be thanked, that you were the servants of sin, but you have obeyed from
the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Rom. 6:18 Being then made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness.
• 1John 3:4 ¶ Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the
transgression of the law.

• Is. 51:7 Hearken unto me, you that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is
my law; fear you not the reproach of men, neither be you afraid of their reviling.

Rom. 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as you
have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to lawlessness unto lawlessness; even so
now yield your members servants to righteousness unto set-apartness.
• 38. aJgiasmo/ß hagiasmos, hag-ee-as-mos´; from 37; properly, purification, i.e. (the
state) purity; concretely (by Hebraism) a purifier: — holiness, sanctification.
o This is dealing with your member i.e. you body. Uncleanness such as foods,
lawlessness, i.e. transgressing the Law of Yahuah our Alahiym, which is sin.

Rom. 6:20 For when you were the servants of sin, you were free from righteousness.
Rom. 6:21 What fruit had you then in those things whereof you are now ashamed? for the end of
those things is death.
Rom. 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to Alahiym, you have your
fruit unto set-apartness [your fruits should be doing what the Word calls set-apart], and the end everlasting life.
• Matt. 19:16 ¶ And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good teacher (Master), what
good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
• Matt. 19:17 And he said unto him, Why call you me good? there is none good but
one, that is, Alahiym: but if you will enter into life, keep the commandments.

• John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears my word, and believes on him
that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed
from death unto life.

• John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave
me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
• John 12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak
therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

• Notice the contrast. What causes death, and what causes life. Keeping His
commandments gives you long life. Violation of the commandments/Laws brings you
death.

What did they believe, or what was their belief?

2Cor. 6:14 Be you not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has
righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion has light with darkness?
• Luke 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then comes the devil, and takes
away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Acts 28:23 ¶ And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging;
to whom he expounded and witness the kingdom of Alahiym, persuading them concerning
Yahusha, both out of the law of Mushah (Mashah/Moses), and out of the prophets, from morning till
evening.
Acts 28:24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

John 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

John 10:38 But if I do, though you believe not me, believe the works: that you may know, and
believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
• Is. 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is
because there is no light in them.

Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and esteemed (glorified) the word of
Yahuah: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
Acts 13:49 And the word of Yahuah was published throughout all the region.

Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word
with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Acts 17:12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honorable women which were Greeks, and
of men, not a few.

1Th. 2:13 ¶ For this cause also thank we Alahiym without ceasing, because, when you received
the word of Alahiym which you heard of us, you received it not as the word of men, but as it is
in truth, the word of Alahiym, which effectually works also in you that believe.

How about Shaul?

Acts 21:17 And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
Acts 21:18 And the day following Shaul (Paul) went in with us unto Ya’aqub (Ya’aqab/James); and all
the elders were present.
Acts 21:19 And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things Alahiym had
wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
Acts 21:20 And when they heard it, they esteemed Yahuah, and said unto him, You see, brother,
how many thousands of Yahudiym there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
Acts 21:21 And they are informed of you, that you teach all the Yahudiym which are among the
Gentiles to forsake Mushah (Mashah/Moses), saying that they ought not to circumcise their children,
neither to walk after the customs.
Acts 21:22 What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that
you are come.
Acts 21:23 Do therefore this that we say to you: We have four men which have a vow on them;
Acts 21:24 Them take, and purify yourself with them, and be at charges with them, that they
may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed
concerning you, are nothing; but that you yourself also walk orderly, and keep the law.
Acts 24:14 But this I confess unto you, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I
the Alahiym of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just;
because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which has sent me.

John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent
me.
John 6:39 And this is the Father’s will which has sent me, that of all which he has given me I
should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which sees the Son, and
believes on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to
judge the world, but to save the world.
John 12:48 He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word
that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a
commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
John 12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore,
even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Matt. 12:47 Then one said unto him, Behold, your mother and your brethren stand without,
desiring to speak with you.
Matt. 12:48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are
my brethren?
Matt. 12:49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother
and my brethren!
Matt. 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my
brother, and sister, and mother.

Luke 8:20 And it was told him by certain which said, Your mother and your brethren stand
without, desiring to see you.

hear the word of Alahiym, and do it.

wonderful works?
Matt. 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work
iniquity.

Oracles of Alahiym
Heb. 5:12 For when for the time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you
again which be the first principles of the oracles of Alahiym; and are become such as have need
of milk, and not of strong meat.
Heb. 5:13 For every one that uses milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a
babe.

Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the assembly (church) in the wilderness with the Malak
(Messenger/Angel)
which spoke to him in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received the
lively oracles to give unto us:

Ex. 20:1 ¶ And Alahiym spoke all these words, saying,

We must understand That the Mashiyach was a Hebrew of the tribe of Yahudah (Judah) and His
talmadiym (Disciples) were also Hebrews. The teachings were from the Father who is the Alahiym
of the Hebrews. Everything is surrounding the Father and His ways.

Acts 20:27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of Alahiym.
We need to look at the Laws and Commandments as marital vows. The bridegroom expresses he
will do x y and z Love and obey. The bride says I will love and obey, etc etc. So it first starts out
promises, then the obedience comes next. The evidence comes after the promise. Works will
follow. If there is no evidence, no obedience, then there was no love or obedience in the first
place.

This works when one applies for a job. They offer first. You promise to preform according to
their rules, then the evidence. There was no works to get the job.

The Word Law in scripture has been miss understood, because of how Law is understood today.

Let us see what Mashiyach has to say about the commandments and the Kingdom.
• Matt. 22:34 ¶ But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to

me, you that work lawlessness (iniquity)

o Matt. 13:19 When any one hears the word of the kingdom, and understands it
not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his
heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
o Matt. 13:20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he
that hears the word, and anon with joy receives it;

o Jer. 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of
Yashra’al (Yisrael/Israel); After those days, says Yahuah, I will put my law in their

shall be my people.

o Heb. 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of
Yashra’al (Yisrael/Israel) after those days, says Yahuah; I will put my laws into

and they shall be to me a people:

The response that Yahusha gives is called a ‫ אב‬text. What that means is when you obey the first
Commandment you will obey all other commandments. If you love me, keep my commandment.
Basically you need to know how to love Him you cannot say you love Him and do not do His
commandments

The first 4 commandments teaches you how to love the Father. The last six tells you how to love
your neighbor. What Mashiyach did was do a summation of the ten words. Why would he do this
and not read the whole ten? His audience was Hebrews. But more importantly the ones that were
suppose to be keeping and enforcing them were called lawyers.

- Original: νοµικός
- Transliteration: Nomikos
- Phonetic: nom-ik-os'
- Definition:
1. pertaining to the law, one learned in the law
2. in the NT an interpreter and teacher of the Mosaic law

Luke 10:25 ¶ And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Teacher, what
shall I do to inherit eternal life?
Luke 10:26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how read you?
Luke 10:27 And he answering said, You shall love Yahuah your Alahiym with all your heart,
and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as
yourself.
Luke 10:28 And he said unto him, You have answered right: this do, and you shall live.

Luke 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for you have taken away the key of knowledge: you entered

• Hos. 4:6 ¶ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because you have rejected
knowledge, I will also reject you, that you shall be no priest to me: seeing you have
forgotten the law of your Alahiym, I will also forget your children.

Love in Hebrew has a greater meaning then just emotions. There is action behind love. When
you do the actions behind what love is, then you begin to fulfill the definition of love.
• Rom. 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loves another
has fulfilled the law.
• Rom. 13:9 For this, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not
steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not covet; and if there be any other
commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, You shall love your
neighbor as yourself.
• Rom. 13:10 Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the
law.

Notice in order to show love to your neighbor you would fulfill the commandments that teaches
you how to love.

Now same goes with the first four commandments to the Creator.
• Keeping His Shabbath
• Do not take His name in vain
• Keeping His Laws and Commandments

When you hear, “if you love me keep my commandments,” this means if you keep the
instructions on how to love me and your neighbor, then you truly love me.

In verse nine it says love your neighbor as yourself. Question how do you love yourself? Dietary
laws, your health.

Matt. 5:17 ¶ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to
destroy, but to fulfill. [idiom]

jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book
shall lie upon him, and Yahuah shall blot out his name from under heaven.
• Deut. 29:21 And Yahuah shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Yashra’al
(Yisrael/Israel)
, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of
the law:

• Psa. 51:1 ¶ Have mercy upon me, O Alahiym, according to your loving-kindness:
according unto the multitude of your tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
• Psa. 51:2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
• Psa. 51:3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

• Psa. 51:9 Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
• Psa. 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O Alahiym; and renew a right spirit within me.
• Psa. 51:11 Cast me not away from your presence; and take not your set-apart spirit
from me.

• Rev. 3:5 He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not
blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my
Father, and before his malakiym (messengers/angels).

• Acts 3:19 Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,
when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of Yahuah;

• Col. 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was
contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his stake (cross);

Rom. 7:12 Wherefore the law is set-apart, and the commandment set-apart, and just, and good.
Rom. 7:13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? Alahiym forbid. But sin, that it
might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment
might become exceeding sinful.
Rom. 7:14 ¶ For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom. 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that
do I.
Rom. 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Rom. 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me.
Rom. 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is
present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Rom. 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Rom. 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me.
Rom. 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Rom. 7:22 For I delight in the law of Alahiym after the inward man:
Rom. 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and
bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom. 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Rom. 7:25 I thank Alahiym through Yahusha Mashiyach our Master (controller/Sovereign). So then
with the mind I myself serve the law of Alahiym; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Heb. 10:1 ¶ For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the
things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the
comers thereunto perfect.
Heb. 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once
purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
Heb. 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

Gal. 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed
is every one that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
• Deut. 27:15 Cursed be the man that makes any graven or molten image, an
abomination unto Yahuah, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and puts it in a
secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.
• Deut. 27:16 Cursed be he that sets light by his father or his mother. And all the
people shall say, Amen.
• Deut. 27:17 Cursed be he that removes his neighbor’s landmark. And all the people
shall say, Amen.
• Deut. 27:18 Cursed be he that makes the blind to wander out of the way. And all the
people shall say, Amen.
• Deut. 27:19 Cursed be he that perverts the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and
widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.
• Deut. 27:20 Cursed be he that lies with his father’s wife; because he uncovers his
father’s skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.
• Deut. 27:21 Cursed be he that lies with any manner of beast. And all the people shall
say, Amen.
• Deut. 27:22 Cursed be he that lies with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the
daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
• Deut. 27:23 Cursed be he that lies with his mother in law. And all the people shall
say, Amen.
• Deut. 27:24 Cursed be he that smites his neighbor secretly. And all the people shall
say, Amen.
• Deut. 27:25 Cursed be he that takes reward to slay an innocent person. And all the
people shall say, Amen.
• Deut. 27:26 Cursed be he that confirms not all the words of this law to do them. And
all the people shall say, Amen.
o Notice what happens if you keep the Commandments, being obedient:
o Deut. 28:1 ¶ And it shall come to pass, if you shall hearken diligently unto the
voice of Yahuah your Alahiym, to observe and to do all his commandments
which I command thee this day, that Yahuah your Alahiym will set you on
high above all nations of the earth:
o Deut. 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on you, and overtake you, if
you shall hearken unto the voice of Yahuah your Alahiym.

Gal. 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of Alahiym [which law should be the question],
it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Gal. 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that does them shall live in them.
• Matt. 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you pay tithe of
mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law,
judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought you to have done, and not to leave the other
undone.

Gal. 3:13 Mashiyach has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it
is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree: [Not the blessings of the law: Deut. 28:1-2].

Gal. 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should
afterwards be revealed.
Gal. 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Mashiyach, that we might be
justified by faith.
Gal. 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
• The schoolmaster/tutor was added to law because of transgressions. The sacrificial
law was added to teach the need for obedience and the need of faith.

Rom. 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Alahiym.
Mashiyach is the Word that became flesh. Which also the T[h]urah [Law/Instruction] and places in the
Tanak is called the Word of Alahiym.

Fulfill
• 4137. plhro/w pleroo, play-ro´-o; from 4134; to make replete, i.e. (literally) to cram
(a net), level up (a hollow), or (figuratively) to furnish (or imbue, diffuse, influence),

prediction), etc.: — accomplish, x after, (be) complete, end, expire, fill (up), fulfil,

• Col. 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of Alahiym

which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of Alahiym;

• 2Th. 1:11 ¶ Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our Alahiym would count
you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the
work of faith with power:
• 2Th. 1:12 That the name of our Master (Sovereign/controller) Yahusha Mashiyach may be
esteemed in you, and you in him, according to the favor of our Alahiym and the
Master (Sovereign/controller) Yahusha Mashiyach.

• Col. 2:9 For in him dwells all the fullness of the deity bodily.
• Col. 2:10 And you are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and

Alahiym; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully
preached the good-news of Mashiyach.

• Matt. 3:15 And Yahusha answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it
becomes us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

1. to fill

• Psa. 20:4 Grant you according to your own heart, and fulfill all your counsel.

Matt. 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no
wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Matt. 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach
men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach
them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matt. 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of
the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

We need to ask ourselves, what is truth, and does truth change?

• Psa. 119:142 ¶ Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and your law is
the truth.
o Shaul agrees in Romans 7:12: Wherefore the law is set-apart, and the
commandment set-apart, and righteous [Just], and good

• Psa. 119:151 You are near, O Yahuah; and all your commandments are truth.

• Psa. 119:160 ¶ Your word is true from the beginning: and every one of your
righteous judgments endures for ever.

• Psa. 138:2 I will worship toward your set-apart temple, and praise your name for
your loving-kindness and for your truth: for you have magnified your word above all
your name.

• John 17:17 ¶ Purify them through your truth: your word is truth.

The Word of Yahuah, His laws and Commandments are true from the beginning and forever. It
purifies you.
• John 14:6 Yahusha says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
comes unto the Father, but by me.

All three terms: Way, Truth, Life, is defined as the Word of Alahiym. His Laws and
Commandments direct you in the way, it is defined as truth, and gives you long life. Also He is
called the light.
• Prov. 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of
instruction are the way of life:
o 2Tim. 3:15 And that from a child you have known the set-apart scriptures,
which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in
Mashiyach Yahusha.
o 2Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of Alahiym, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
o 2Tim. 3:17 That the man of Alahiym may be perfect, thoroughly furnished
unto all good works.

• Eph. 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the
breastplate of righteousness; [This is the Word of Alahiym].

• 3John 3 ¶ For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that
is in you, even as you walk in the truth.
• 3John 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

• Mark 12:14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Teacher, we know that
you are true, and care for no man: for you regard not the person of men, but teach the
way of Alahiym in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
o Deut. 28:9 Yahuah shall establish you an set-apart people unto himself, as he
has sworn unto you, if you shall keep the commandments of Yahuah your
Alahiym, and walk in his ways.

o Josh. 22:5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which
Mushah (Mashah/Moses) the servant of Yahuah charged you, to love Yahuah your
Alahiym, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to
cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
• Eccl. 12:13 ¶ Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Alahiym, and keep
his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

• 1John 1:8 ¶ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not
in us.
• 1John 1:9 If we confess [Acknowledge] our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [Sin is transgression or violation of the Law 1 John 3:4]
• 1John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is
not in us.

• 2Pet. 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways [Perdition/ like the son of perdition/ waste];
by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

• John 8:30 As he spoke these words, many believed on him.

• John 8:31 ¶ Then said Yahusha to those Yahudiym which believed on him, If you
continue in my word, then are you my talmadiym (disciples) indeed;
• John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Notice the truth will make you free, and not bondage.

Acts 6:9 Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the
Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with
Stephen.
Acts 6:10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spoke.
Acts 6:11 Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words
against Mushah (Mashah/Moses), and against Alahiym.
Acts 6:12 And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him,
and caught him, and brought him to the council,
Acts 6:13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceases not to speak blasphemous
words against this set-apart place, and the law:
Acts 6:14 For we have heard him say, that this Yahusha of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and
shall change the customs which Mushah (Mashah/Moses) delivered us.

Notice they set up false witness. [Noteworthy: What was false?]

• Speaking against the Law
• Mashiyach will change the customs which Mushah (Mashah/Moses) delivered us
If the law was done away with once Mashiyach died and rose, why would they need to have false
witnesses? The False witness back then is what Most Church believers say to day. It was false
council back then (Which was after His death) and would be false council now.

If Stephen is speaking against T[h]urah, change the customs of Mushah (Mashah/Moses) why bring
false witnesses? However what it does mean is if this was false, He actually was not speaking
against the Law, and did not teach that Yahusha came to change the Laws and Customs. It
further states that the Spirit and wisdom was what he spoke. So if it was done away with, would
not the Spirit have told him so?

Basically He was set-up and was falsely accused. He did not teach against the Law or the
customs. The opposite of what he was falsely accused must be true.

Matt. 28:18 And Yahusha came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in
heaven and in earth.
Matt. 28:19 Go you therefore, and teach all nations, immersing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Set-apart Spirit:
Matt. 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I
am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Grace

5485. ca¿riß charis, khar´-ece; from 5463; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act
(abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart,
and its reflection in the life; including gratitude): — acceptable, benefit, favor, gift, grace(- ious),
joy, liberality, pleasure, thank(-s, -worthy).

This term ranges from giving a gift and favor to have “grace” or kindness.
• Example: When your child does good or right, they have found favor in your eyes.
You may even give them a gift. The gift is not to do away with why they received the
gift, but something to remind you of why and what the gift is for.

2580. NEj chen, khane; from 2603; graciousness, i.e. subjective (kindness, favor) or objective
(beauty):—favour, grace(-ious), pleasant, precious, (well-)favoured.
Most believers have a hard time with the understanding of what “Grace” means or what they
believe it means.

Rom. 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all
nations, for his name:
• What is or part of the Faith?
o Rom. 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of
Alahiym.
o Psa. 119:30 ¶ I have chosen the way of Faith [truth]: your judgments have I laid
before me.
§ Psa. 81:4 For this was a statute for Yashra’al (Yisrael/Israel), and a law of
the Alahiym of Ya’aqub (Ya’aqab/Jacob).
§ Lev. 24:22 You shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger,
as for one of your own country: for I am Yahuah your Alahiym.

Rom. 1:6 Among whom are you also the called of Yahusha Mashiyach:
Rom. 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of Alahiym, called to be saints: Grace to you and
peace from Alahiym our Father, and the Sovereign Yahusha Mashiyach.

Rom. 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners [violation of the Law], so by the
obedience of one shall many be made righteous [righteousness is having the law in your heart Is. 51:7].
Rom. 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded,
grace did much more abound:
• 3900. para¿ptwma paraptoma, par-ap´-to-mah; from 3895; a side-slip (lapse or
deviation), i.e. (unintentional) error or (wilful) transgression: — fall, fault, offence,
sin, trespass.

Rom. 5:21 That as sin has reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness
[Is. 51:7]
unto eternal life [Keeping Commandments, quote from Mashiyach] by Yahusha Mashiyach our Sovereign.

Rom. 6:1 ¶ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Rom. 6:2 Alahiym forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Rom. 6:3 Know you not, that so many of us as were immersed into Yahusha Mashiyach were
immersed into his death?
Rom. 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by immersion into death: that like as Mashiyach was
raised up from the dead by the esteem of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of
life.

Rom. 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. [Transgression of the Law]

Rom. 6:11 Likewise reckon you also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto
Alahiym through Yausha Mashiyach our Sovereign. [Alahiym and His Word are one].
Rom. 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in the lusts
thereof.
Rom. 6:13 Neither yield you your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield
yourselves unto Alahiym, as those that are alive [Laws/Commandments] from the dead [Sin/transgression of the
law]
, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto Alahiym.
Rom. 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law [Penalty/curse of
the Law/violation of the law, not the Law itself]
, but under grace.
Rom. 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? Alahiym
forbid.

2Cor. 8:4 Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the
fellowship of the ministering to the saints.

Rev. 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of
Alahiym, and the faith of Yahusha.

Grace does not cancel out the Law. It helps within the Law, or the Word of Alahiym.
