CrO< Cr2O3<CrO3( Higher the oxidation state more will be the acidic character)

Ans. Tantalum is used in making bone nails for surgery because it is resistant to
corrosion.

5.Actinoids contraction is greater than lanthanoids contraction and why?

Ans. This is because relatively poor shielding effect by 5f electron in actinoids in

comparision with shielding of 4f electron in lanthanoids.
