LGBT RIGHTS
Survey Data Analysis:
Pie chart based on question 1 of Survey:

WHAT DOES LGBT MEAN?

YES THEY KNEW

NO THEY DIDN'T KNEW

According to the survey taken by us, we found out that to the maximum only 60 % of the
people knew the exact meaning behind the well known term of “LGBT community”. It was a
quite fascinating fact that we had so many people know about them as they used to live in
shadows. But now that they have come out to the whole world, they still live amongst the fears
of the common people.
Pie Chart Based on Question 2 of the Survey:

DO YOU SUPPORT LGBT RIGHTS ?

YES

NO

I DON’T' KNOW WHAT LGBT

RIGHTS ARE.

This question was quite an opinioned one. Though some people supported LGBT rights,
majority of them still did not support it and few of them didn't knew what LGBT rights were.
Pie chart based on question 3 of Survey:

DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE FROM THE LGBT

COMMUNITY ?

YES NO

Through this we can tell that many people are not acquainted or knew people from the LGBT
Community.
Pie chart based on question 4 of Survey:

DOES THIS INFLUENCE YOUR SUPPORT FOR

THE LGBT ?

YES NO

Therefore here we can say that even though people were acquainted or not acquainted with someone
from the LGBT Community, it didn't influence or change their perspective towards the LGBT Community.
Pie chart based on question 5 of Survey:

DO YOU THINK THAT HOMOSEXUALITY IS A

CHOICE ?

YES NO

This question was a very exigent question. This helped us in concluding that though people did not
know about LGBT people they still thought that being a part of the community was a choice.
Pie chart based on question 6 of Survey:

WAS DECRIMINALISATION OF SECTION 377 A

RIGHT OR WRONG MOVE ?

IT WAS A RIGHT MOVE

NO, IT WASN’T A RIGHT

MOVE
I DON’T KNOW

It was quite an astonishing fact that people did not know about the recent decriminalization of section
377. It was our nation’s pride day but still a majority of people do know not know about it.
But in the end there are people who agree that it was a right move by the government and it is an
indeed a proud moment for the LGBT Community in India.
