Zeus’s first victory came short after he was born. It all started with the creation story where at
the beginning there was only chaos and void. Then came some important immortal beings which
lead to Cronus being born. Cronus is an evil Titan that is very powerful and the father of most
Gods. Cronus had many children that are now considered to be the main Gods. After hearing
from a prophecy that one of his children would overthrow him, he swallowed all of his children.
He swallowed all of his children so no one could overthrow him. However, the Gods were
immortal, so they just stayed inside Cronus trapped there. A little bit after that, Cronus had
another kid named Zeus. Zeus’s mother, fearing that Cronus would eat him, decided to hide
Zeus. She hid Zeus in a cave and realized that Cronus would realize that he was missing. So,
she came up with a deviant plan to feed a rock to Cronus and trick him into thinking it was Zeus.
The plan worked and Cronus thought he had swallowed Zeus. Zeus then grew up in a cave and
grew strong. His maturity increase from infant to adult took maybe a year to complete. He then
went to Cronus and asked to be his cupbearer. Zeus put something in his drink that made Cronus
throw up. This made Cronus throw up the rest of the children and Zeus saved them.
After Zeus made Cronus spit up the Gods, the Titanomachy started. The Titanomachy was the
war between the Gods and the Titans. This happened because Zeus and his siblings rebelled
against their father Cronus. For 10 years, the war was unsuccessful. No one on either side had
prevailed. A little bit after that, the Gods teamed with other mythical beings and defeated the
Titans. According to GreekMythology.com, Zeus played a big role in this war. Zeus’s
leadership and war strategies helped the Gods prevail over the Titans and win the Titanomachy.
After the war, Zeus was named father of the Gods and given the title God of the sky and thunder.
