ADJUSTING PROCEDURE FOR DELAY DROPOUT OF “TBN" & "EAT" TIMING ASSEMBLIES CONSTRUCTION DEPARTMENT @ HAUGHTON ELEVATOR COMPANY @ DIVIRON OF TOLEDO SCALE CORPORATION © TOLEDO, ONTO BN 08 ATT Retay RC = Capacitor Charging Resistance RD = Gapacitor Discharging Resistance © = Timing Capacitor This family of time relays use either a type BN or AT relay in @ resistance-capacitor timed circuit. In all cases the delay dropout time (here after referred to as “da1") is adjusted by resistance in the dischage circuit. To increase the "dd?", imerease the resistance. To decrease the "ddI", decrease the resistance. When changing resistance values the slider must be free of the resistance tube before being moved. The resistance tube is wound with very fine wire end is easily damaged if the slider is forced. SAFETY PRECAUTION Since these capacitors have a charge greater than on any previous timer, extreme care should be taken in making adjustments. They should be discharged through several hundred ohns of a power resistance tube rather then short citciltice chem. ADJUSTING PROCEDURE Before attempting to adjust any timer, cycle the timing assembly several times. When adjustments are being made at least one other timing circuit should be on the line. Zt will be noted that if the relay is operating off the 190 volt DC Single phase rectifier assembly the line voltage will rise to about 250 volts, 1f operating off the 240 volt three phase rectifier assembly the voltage will ris only slightly. For each time setting the circuit should be charged for at least 5 to 10-seconds to assure a full charge on the condensor. If the "ddT" cannot be Feduced by resistance adjustments check for an "open" in the discharging resistance circuit. If there is no "dd7"; check for an "épen" in the charging resistance circuit or a faulty capacitor, This relay has a range of time from ¥ to 1} seconds. Adjust the slider on the 5000 ohm resistance mounted on stud #2 for a "ddI" of 3/4 seconds, Relay on Plan "600" and "700") (000MFD With H4, DS3 and DS1 contacts closed "dd?" should be about 10 seconds. Adjust the slider on 2500 ohms resistor mounted on stud #2. With only H4 and DS3 contacts closed "ddT" should be about 14 seconds. Adjust the slider on 5000 ohm resistor mounted on stud #4. With only H4 contact closed "ddt" should be about 18 seconds. Adjust the slider on 5000 chm resistor mounted on stud #1. With H4 contact open and DS3 and DS1 contacts closed, "ddT" can be adjusted from 10 to 30 seconds by 25000 ohm resistor mounted on top middle or unnumbered stud. Page 3 (ADT 15.01 With DS3 and DS1 contacts closed, "ddT" should be about 10 seconds. Adjust slider on 2500 ohm resistor mounted on atud #2.
