Configuration, Operation and
Programming

2014 V1.2
System Configuration

To configure a system
1. Decide panel type and quantity. If more than one panel is configured,
add network card to each panel.
2. Decide loop quantity. Remember leave at least 20% of loop quantity for
future expansion.

3. Calculate power consumption and configure PSU as required.

4. Consider of loop power consumption devices (like sounder base and
loop powered sounder). Add more loop cards if needed.
5. Isolators will be required to protect the loop.
6. At least one handhold programmer and one RS232 communication card
is required for each commissioning company.

7. Add any necessary accessories as requirement.

Fire Alarm Control Panel GST200-2

67
Basic Software Configuration GST200-2

Points should be known before programming GST 200-2

Each devices code include 3 parts:
Device Zone number (3 digit, range 001-060 for GST200-2
Device address (3 digit, range 001-242)
Device type (2 digit) .
For example: 001001 03 means smoke detector (type 03) address 001 in zone 001

The device code is the device unique ID on standalone FACP or whole FACP network. So before
addressing and programming devices, below points should be noted:

1. In same zone, in case the devices from different loop or different panel, the device address + device
type can not be same as other device’s. for example: in zone No.1 already has smoke detector
address No.1 from loop1, and in this zone has another smoke detector from other loop or other
panel, the device address can not be No.1 again. Or if use address No.1, can not given to smoke
detector.

2. Device information transferred on network include :

“Device zone number + Device address + Device type (number only, no text)+ device location
description.
So the zone information must be downloaded to each network panel, if has the user defined device
type text, the description also need download to each panel.

68
Basic Software Configuration GST200-2

Points should be known before programming GST200-2

1. The maximum zone number for GST200-2 is 60, if the panel in network, and whole network
zone numbers more than 60. for example 4 GST200-2 panels in network, each panel include
20 zones. Total 80 zones. The commissioning engineer can set the devices in panel No.1 to
zone 1 to 20, devices in panel No.2 to zone 21 to 40, devices in panel No.3 in zone 41 to 60.
and devices in panel No.4 in zone 1 to 20, then set the start zone number on panel No.4 is 61.
then the zone 1 on panel 4 will be displayed as zone 61 on local and network panel.

2. On GST200-2 panel, the network fire signal cannot use as local panel Cause & Effect
condition.

3. Local panel can send activation command to network. Such as above example if in case fire
on panel 1 want to active module on panel No.4, must save cause & Effect on panel No.1,
the activation device code must be the displayed number, for example 061001 13. not the
local programmed code.
