Functioning of Student Nurses. International Journal of Nursing Science, 2167-7441.
doi:10.5923/j.nursing.20150502.02

This journal article revealed that engaging in organizational or extracurricular activities means
accepting/adding new responsibility, responsibility that once you’ve accepted there’s no turning
back. Such activities can give students harsh/ stressing moments. One is the pressure that comes
with it. Another is the limited time for them to do all the responsibility that had been given to them.
This could lead to misunderstandings between friends and forgetting main focus such as their study
and going to mass. Being stressed and exhausted, students just want to rest on free days instead of
joining and mingling with family and friends.

America: Leaf Group Ltd. Retrieved from http://howtoadult.com/effect-extracurricular-activities-
academic-grades-8034677.html
At this report the writer argues that extracurricular activity participation can affect negatively on
academics. According to California State University, a child who devotes his spare time to
extracurricular activities spends less time on studies. This can affect his grades if he is not
spending enough time studying. It can also become stressful dedicating time to an activity if the
schedule increases. As the academic workload increases, so too can an extracurricular activity,
and a student can feel stressed wondering how he can deal with both.
