INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES & TELCO SECTOR OUTLOOK

Information Technology is one of the fields of employment that is most resistant to the European financial crisis and
ensuing economic slowdown. This market is mostly candidate driven due to persistent skills shortages.

These skills shortages mean that competition between the candidates nearly does not exist, because any IT specialists
are desirable (mostly Java, .NET/C#, database developers, business analysts, or IT support with languages). IT salaries
have increased by 5-10% across all of the countries that we surveyed . IT salaries belong to some of the highest salaries
in all economies. The forecast for candidates in this sector is still positive at least to next 2-3 years.

Information Technology is one of the most resistant sectors to economic slowdown. Non-IT candidates view IT salaries
with jealousy. Although the days of a candidate market are over in most sectors this does not apply to IT. We can say
that every IT specialization is desirable, however there are some profiles that are most popular amongst potential em-
ployers.

We observe increasing interest in Web Applications Developers, mostly with use of Java ASP.Net. Due to explosion of
mobile technologies development, companies from the Electronics/Telecommunications and IT sectors are seeking Java
Developers once again, and C/C++ developers with knowledge of Android/iOS systems. Due to impressive growth and

popularity of SAP systems in terms of IT process globalization SAP Consultants are also highly desirable, as global corpo-
rations find CEE (in particular Poland ) a great region to open their SAP centers.

TECHNOLOGIES
What’s more employers are really open in terms of candidates’ seniority. Depending on projects needs’ they are looking
for graduates and juniors (especially in mobile technologies area), experienced candidates and seniors (especially if we
are talking about SAP centers building). The most important thing in recruitment decision-making is technical knowledge,

not years of experience or soft skills, which are quite important within other disciplines.

Multilingual candidates can demand higher salaries. SSC/BPO centers are growing and so in this sector help desk
specialists with almost all European languages, are very attractive for employers. However the most popular languages
are: German, French and Scandinavian languages.

Although IT specialists are usually happy about their profession and often passionate about their work, they don’t feel
very attached to their employers, especially within the software development area, which is mostly connected with
project work. Due to this contract work is more and more popular. Consequently the staff turnover of IT employees is
higher, for instance we have witnessed extremes of more than 70% turnover of IT staff in some organisations, particularly
in Turkey.

We predict that salaries will continue to increase over the next 2-3 years but as enrolment at Technical Universities
increases due to good career prospects availability of candidates may increase leading to a stabilization of salaries.

PHARMACEUTICAL & HEALTHCARE

Despite the economic trends, the Pharmaceutical sector has a promising future in the CEE. With an ageing population
there is an assumption that drug consumption will continue to grow, though we are not expecting large growth in 2013.

This sector is well developed in Czech Republic which is one of the largest pharmaceutical markets in CEE. In terms of
the labour market this sector is very attractive especially in sales and marketing and research and development where
employers will look for advanced communication skills, multi-lingual ability and socio-cultural competence.

There is also significant opportunity for growth in Turkey due to the massive health transformation programme which
has been out into progress to improve quality of medical care in the country. Therefore, Turkey is one of the fastest gro-
wing pharmaceutical markets in Europe. Companies are looking for qualified sales representatives with local and English
language, as well as specialist for research and development centers, which are necessary for these companies which
would like to be market leaders.

In 2012 we searched mostly for strategic purchasing positions (both direct and indirect) both for logistics suppliers and
manufacturers. The market is mostly looking for senior candidates such as Logistics Managers, Supply Chain Managers,
and Logistics Specialists with English and /or other European languages. This market is stable in most countries and
consequently salaries are only rising in line with inflation.

The Logistics sector in Turkey is a high growth sector that is gaining importance due to Turkey’s strategic location.
As in the CEE region, the Turkish market is looking for senior, qualified and experienced candidates. The most required
language is English. There are also opportunities for graduates with sector specific education and 2+ languages.

In the purchasing field across Europe there is a high demand for strategic purchasers (direct and indirect) with 3-5 years

BANKING & FINANCIAL SERVICES

Over the past 3 years we have witnessed significant global regulatory reform. Banks and securities firms are faced with
numerous challenges and sweeping changes. As such there is no doubt that the environment has been a difficult one for banks.
Across Europe banks have already undergone the restructuring process including cost-cutting and redundancy. In 2013, the
two largest Czech banks announced mass layoffs. Česká Spořitelna and ČSOB together released more than 1,100 employees.

In Hungary there is major competition in the finance and banking market which saw no growth in 2012. Raiffeisen, Unicredit
and several other banks cut jobs due to increased taxation which has affected growth in a dramatic way over the last 2-3
years,. Consequently, across Central and Eastern Europe there has been no increase in salaries in this sector (except in line with
inflation) and we don’t expect salary growth in 2013.

In Poland, In spite of the ongoing crisis, the banking sector is still looking good for candidates in the fields of sales and
customer service as banks focus on attracting and retaining customers. There is also a demand for strong successful managers
who would take on and lead teams through “the storm”.

Whilst 2012 was not the best year with redundancies and hiring freezes in effect our clients tell us that for the second half of
2013 the prospects are better but not great. Recruitment processes are still in place but the aim is to retain the current level

Despite a slight slowdown since 2011/2012 we can say that the Accountancy and Insurance labour markets across
Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania have been relatively stable over the last year with no growth
in salaries.

Currently, the most sought after candidates are Controllers, Analysts and Finance Managers; these roles were also the
most required in 2012. Our clients are recruiting experienced candidates (3 – 8 years of experience), there are not too
many opportunities for graduates or candidates with short-term experience. Positions for junior candidates or graduates
are still quite rare.

Our experience records that international accounting and insurance companies have a preference for senior candidates
with more than 3 years of experience and mostly with fluent English language ability, 9 in 10 positions require candidates
with an advanced level of English language (B2 level or higher). We have witnessed continuous hiring within ‘The Big 4”

In the Eastern most corners of Europe, Turkey’s insurance market is booming with the industry growing at approximately
20% in 2012. There are currently nearly 1800 open vacancies in the most used career portal. Starting salaries did not grew by

The accountancy and insurance sector also offers some opportunity for graduates, who want to start their careers in

During the economic crisis, most companies focused on increasing sales and reducing costs, particularly marketing costs.
Whilst this is a simple summary, this applies to trends in the Sales and Marketing sector across our network.

In an effort to increase their turnover, organisations are attempting to attract experienced sales representatives or
managers who may not even boast years of experience but proven sales results and a good level of English. Companies
are looking for ‘hunters’ – i.e. aggressive and proven sales people. The market is particularly attractive for technical sales
representatives who major in IT, Telecomms and Engineering. Despite high demand, salaries did not grow significantly
this year, but there are some sectors (for example IT) where there is visibly higher competition for skilled sales people
creating higher salaries for these candidates. In addition we have seen slight growth in the number of senior sales
managers willing to consider new opportunities which means that there is an increased pool of available sales talent in
the market.

Marketing is one of the first departments to suffer from cost cutting during an economic slowdown. This trend is visible
in not just small and medium sized companies but also in large multinational corporations. Large marketing depart-
ments where most of the marketing activities were delegated to specialized agencies have now had their budgets cut
meaning that these functions are now being carried out by the in house marketing team, forcing marketers to become
more specialized. This has lead to demand for more specific skills sets particularly in online and digital marketing and

SALES & brand management.

We don’t expect this trend to change in the near future. As there are huge numbers of marketing candidates with

MARKETING experience as well as fresh graduates (this is one of the most popular areas of study in European universities) the compe-
tition is enormous, mostly in less specialized positions as there are fewer opportunities on the market. Therefore salaries
are not growing, except for very specialized positions.

Candidates who are specialized in specific fields such as digital marketing, online marketing, brand marketing, BTL/ATL
marketing have better opportunities for employment, however, increased competition has raised the bar higher. Good
marketing specialists need to be creative, but also understand sales, financials, analytics and be very business oriented.
In all positions the English language is a must and other languages are also a big advantage especially in corporates.

As sales and marketing become more integrated, marketing salaries will become more aligned to business performance,
marketers must be able to demonstrate return on investment and sales growth and hence, we believe that the trend
in salary growth in marketing will be bonus related rather than an increase in basic salaries.

HR & ADMINISTRATION

Historically, in small and medium sized enterprises across the region, the HR role has encompassed the full range of HR
responsibility from employee relations to payroll, recognition and remuneration to employee engagement and most of all
recruitment. Inward investment by multinational corporations has lead to HR functions becoming more sophisticated and
specialised, attracting different levels of skills and experience.

Across Eastern Europe and Turkey more experienced and specialised candidates are in demand, for instance; HR Business
Partner; Learning & Development Specialist; Recruitment Specialist; and Employee Engagement specialist are all recognized
roles within a specialized HR function. In these roles English is must and a second language is mostly required in the
case of Shared Service Centers focused on HR services which provide support for the organisations operations in other
countries. In general more senior experienced candidates are harder to come and demand is high. At the more junior level
competition is high amongst those with 2-3 years experience.

In the Czech Republic the trend is mostly for Senior HR professionals with more than 10 plus years experience and more
specialised candidates, this trend also applies to Slovakia. In Hungary the HR employment market is stable in comparison to the
Banking and Finance or Construction sectors.

On the Turkish market there is clear demand for HR specialists with the ability to speak Russian or Chinese. SSC centers
HR & focused on HR services also provide opportunity for fresh graduates who are good at languages. In the case of higher
positions, employers are looking for senior specialists with more than 2 years of experience in the specialism.

ADMINISTRATION The HR function has a low attrition rate despite little growth in salaries. The sector is very stable within most CEE countries.
With respect to administrative positions the biggest demand is for PAs and Office Managers with high level of language skills.

We have witnessed a boom in the SSC/BPO sector over the last 8 years in CEE due to the highly educated and cheaper
labour forces available in this region. There has been some stagnation in some countries due to the economic crisis (Czech
Republic, Hungary). Currently we can say that the Slovakian and Hungarian SSC/BPO markets are quite stable, with few
transitions to Slovakia on the one side and some functions which are transferred to other countries due to lower labor
costs on the other side. Hungary has still not reached the golden years of 2006 and 2007 but the situation is improving.

However the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania and also Turkey are enjoying great popularity with foreign companies who
wish to transfer their centers to a lower cost base. The most popular country for SSC/ BPO location in the CEE region is
Poland with more than 375 SSC/BPO centers and more than 100 000 employees in this field.

As SSCs an BPOS grow and provide more sophisticated services for their internal customers there is also a demand for
more senior, specialized candidates with increasing competition leading to higher salaries for the best candidates.

This is followed by Romania where business centers have started to set up not just in Bucharest but also in university cities
to be closer to their potential employees. In Turkey´s market Contact/Customer Service centers have been gaining importance
day by day and this market has a high growth potential as more and more new SSC’s and BPO’s enter the market. Staff turnover
in Turkish centers is around 50% which is much higher than in other countries (around 28% according to the Grafton SSC/BPO
CONTACT survey 2013).

Centers are focused on a wide scope of activities, including customer service, finance and accounting, payroll, IT and
CENTRES technical support, sales, logistics and HR. Companies are looking for graduates as well as for young professionals with 1- 3 years of
experience. SSC/BPO centers are open to fresh graduates who have excellent command of at least two foreign languages,

there is particular demand for exotic language combinations but English is compulsory.

Amongst respondents of our recent BPO and SSC HR Trends SURVEY* the percentage of SSCs and BPOs with over 500
staff has nearly doubled from 17.3% in 2011 to 30.6% in 2012 and intention to hire is strong.

The construction industry is still in recession across most of Central and Eastern Europe and the market is not expected
to recover significantly over the coming months. With the market in recession competition for projects is high, therefore
there is bigger demand for sales and acquisition positions.

Any growth in the sector can be seen in the energy saving sector both with new building projects and old renovations. In
Czech Republic the number of construction companies with 50 or more employees has decreased by 7%. In addition, the
Hungarian construction market has dramatically reduced in size with the real estate business being similarly affected. In
Romania investors have secured the lowest number of non-residential construction permits in ten years.

Competition is high for senior positions as fewer companies offer fewer positions in response tofewer opportunities.
Companies are expanding abroad into foreign markets in order to counteract the continuing decline in Europe and so
require sales representatives with international sales capabilities. Overall, salaries in this sector have decreased slightly
(-2-3%) in comparison to last year and according to our predictions there will not be an increase in the coming months.

In Turkey, however, the construction and real estate industries are expanding at a rapid rate. This has caused a huge demand
for labourers as well as qualified construction professionals. The whole sector is booming with high demand for architects,
PROPERTY & engineers and high numbers of mid-level experts. Employers have a preference for candidates with 5 to 10 years of
experience and English speaking ability.
