Job Purpose/Overview
The position is responsible for managing the financial accounting and tax processes for Wrigley Nigeria. This
will include corporate tax, WHT/VAT and other taxes, as well as accounts payable process facilitation. The
position is also responsible for maintaining sound internal controls.

Key Responsibilities
 Manage the General Ledger to ensure that sound accounting principles and practices are followed,
financial obligations are met, and financial reports are issued as required.
 Conduct scheduled financial closings to accurately reflect the state of the business.
 Complete all tax compliance, filing and reporting for the legal entity
 Actively participate in financial systems design, implementation, upgrading and maintenance to provide
reliable financial information for use in making sound decisions and plans.
 Monitor account balances for appropriateness and accuracy.
 Manage P&L and balance sheet accounts in accordance with GAAP and local laws.
 Maintain account balances with proper rationales and supporting documentation.
 Verify the accuracy of general ledger and support systems such as journal entries, chart of accounts.
 Reconcile balance sheet accounts and comply with reporting requirements.
 Prepare and analyze P&L according to reporting requirements.
 Close the books periodically and conduct proper reporting based on GAAP and local laws; foreign
currencies and exchange rates.
 Implement various accounting rules and regulations
 Prepare and issue accurate and timely financial reports to corporate and divisional departments.

Context and Scope

Work closely with the Nigeria Finance Manager to ensure governance and control and financial accounting and
tax processes are done in accordance with Mars Finance standards

Job Specifications/Qualifications

1. Education & Professional Qualification


 A degree in Accounting (B.Sc Accounting) essential
 Minimum Second Class Upper Division result

2. Knowledge/Experience
 At least 2-3 years’ experience in Accounting
 Proficient in MS Office, with specific skills in MS Excel, MS Word and MR PowerPoint
 Knowledge of any accounting ERP
