I believe there is probable cause to charge the defendant with these charges because:
On 01/10/2019 Maldonado-Perez, Jonathan began a chat on a popular social media site, with what he believed to
be a 13 year old female. During this chat Jonathan was advised the female was 13 years old prior to talking
about anything sexual or sending any photos. During the chat Jonathan sent three pictures of a nude male penis
and one video of a male having sex with a female. Later on, Jonathan admitted under Miranda that the photos
were of his penis and of him having sex. Jonathan also requested nude photos from the female. Jonathan
requested to have sex with said 13 year old female. Jonathan also requested to meet her in person for the
purpose of having sexual relations. Jonathan responded the area of 1500 S Roberta in Salt Lake City where he
believed the female lived. Once there he was taken into custody. Post Miranda Jonathan admitted to knowing
the female was 13 years old and intending to have sex with her.
