Dear Ms. Amrine,

I am expressing my interest to student teach within the Central Consolidated School District at
Eva B. Stokely Elementary. I have had two years of experience within the elementary school
classroom. During my practicum time with Fort Lewis College, I have gained valuable skills
including communication, organization, innovation, and confidence. With these experiences in
the classroom, I am sure that I will bring the skills necessary to my student teaching semester.

I have been interested in becoming a teacher since my junior year at Shiprock High School and
am currently pursuing my career goal. It is a goal of mine to student teach on the Navajo
Reservation. I will be in my last semester, student teaching in Spring 2018 and receiving my
Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. During my practicum teaching experiences, I
have developed lesson plans for English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Math
curriculums. I have also provided individual, small group and whole class instruction to students
of all levels. I am very passionate about diversity because each student has a unique and
beautiful personality to bring into the class learning environment.
