I. INTRODUCTION
Teachers should be versatile to the undeniable changes that exist in the educational system,
they must engage in different activities and roles for them to grow more and learn as well, as teaching
is a never-ending process of learning. Thus, related to this, the Department of Education created a
policy that will help and support teachers on their continuing professional development, and potential
towards their success in the profession. In line with the implementation of Republic Act No. 10533 or
the Enhanced Basic Education, the Department of Education issues the Department Order No. 35, s.
2016 or “The Learning Action Cell (LAC) as a K to 12 Basic Education Program School-Based
Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning”.
II. OBJECTIVES
NARRATIVE REPORT
The objectives of SLAC Workshop are the following:
Enhanced professional growth
Engaged with different roles in conducting SLAC Workshop
Understand the roles and responsibilities of a LAC Facilitator, Member, Documenter and
Resource Person
Adhere to DepEd Order No. 35, s. 2016
III. HIGHLIGHTS
The Science, TLE and MAPEH Cluster conducts the School Learning Action Cell Workshop
on the topic: “LAC Roles and Responsibilities” on September 5, 2018, 2:30 to 5:00 in the afternoon at
TWNHS Conference Room. The SLAC started with the singing of the National Anthem that was led by
Ms. Michell A. Orozco, MAPEH teacher and followed by an invocation by Mr. Jonald C. Cawicaan,
TLE teacher. Then an opening remarks was given by Dr. Nerissa R. Dalumpines, the school principal,
she clearly explained to the teachers the significance of conducting school learning action cell and the
value of the said topic.
On the first day, Ms. Mary Grace E. Peñaranda, Master Teacher II and also the LAC
Facilitator discussed keenly the topic, “LAC Roles and Responsibilities”. She clearly explained the
different roles and responsibilities of each teacher as a LAC Facilitator, Member, Documenter and
Resource Person, as well of the chances of becoming the person aforementioned. Questions were
entertained and everyone get involved in the said SLAC session.
