Pizza Skills Observation interactive instructions

To unlock this activity team members will need to have passed the Pizza Skills Theory Test in the
Essentials Team Member Training Journey.

A manager will need to use this on-the-job activity to record the results of observing a team member
making two pizzas.

Managers guide to conducting the observation


1. To carry out the observation on a Team Member you will need to logon to Dlearn and find Team
Member using the Team Management menu.

2. Then simply
enter the Team
Members name
you need in the
search bar.

3. You can add


filters if you wish
to refine your
search.

When you are


ready click on the
‘Search’ button.

4. When you find the Team Member you would like to observe select the ‘On-the-job’ icon.

5. Scroll down and you should see the ‘Pizza Sills Observation interactive’ activity in the results list at
the bottom of the screen. If you don’t simply conduct a search, ensuring that the ‘Assigned’ option
is set to ‘All’. You should select the to view the full information before launching the activity.

6. Check that the


correct Team Members
name appears at the
top of the screen.

If the correct screen


does not appear you
should return to the
Team Management
menu and find the
correct Team Member
and follow steps 1-5
again.

7. When you are ready


to start the observation
select the ‘Launch’
option.

8. The content will
launch as an interactive
activity.

You can either record


the observation results
live (using a tablet or
mobile device) or you
can download a paper
based sheet (see below)
from the ‘Resources’
menu and return to the
interactive activity
following steps 1-7
when you are ready to
enter the results.

9. The Team Member will need to set up
outside of the rush.

Each observation involves 8 steps each with a


single choice score of 1-4.

Select the appropriate score and click submit to


move on.

Once the first observation is complete you will


see the screen on the bottom left.

If you need to stop at any stage during the


observation process or when inputting the
scores, click ‘Save and Exit’.

When you launch the content again you can


choose ‘Yes’ from the Resume pop-up.

10. Once you have completed
both observations the last
screen will inform you if the
Team Member has passed the
observation based on their
scores.

The results screen provides you


with details of what you need
to update the activities status
to.

11. After clicking ‘Save and Exit’ and then closing the window you will return to the information page.

You need to scroll down to the Content section of the screen and change the ‘Status’ to match the results
from the observation.

12. The status should be changed to either ‘Passed’ if they scored 75% or more or changed to ‘Training
need’ if they scored below 75%.

If they do not pass on this attempt we recommend that you spend some time with the Team Member to
support them regarding improvements they need to make and plan when you will conduct the follow up
observation.

13. You can add comments to the Training summary or upload images to the Evidence area at the
bottom of the page if you or the Team Member wish to do so.

Just don’t forget to click the ‘Update’ button before closing the activity.
